The MG6 BTCc Edition gets a 1.8 litre turbo petrol offering 158bhp, not enough to win a BTCC race but enough to get the road car to 62mph in 8.4 seconds and on to a slightly asthmatic 120mph.

It's the more practical Soul – with the space of a C-segment, Focus-style car in the footprint of a supermini, claims Kia. Eh?
