Custom IE big brake kit off my E30 track car.  Red 6 piston Wilwood calipers, TONS of spares, extra rotors, FOUR sets of 1/2 used pads (Hawk DTC-60s), one set of brand new pads (Hawk DTC-70s), pad spacers (to use when pads get low).  Rotors on hats are cryo treated (spares are not).  I don't even want to think about how much money I have in just spares.  Great setup if you have either a brake proportioning valve or already have upgraded rear brakes.

There are a few checks in the spares and small cracks.  Still have life in them, none of the cracks are wide enough to pitch the rotors.  New rotors are not bad in cost ~$100 each on Summit Racing, but should be able to get several track weekends out of them.  If for street use, no problems.

Requires 16" wheels.  Does not come with the stainless steel lines as shown on Ireland Engineerings website, so I've included adapters to use your stock E30 (or upgraded stainless E30) brake lines.

McLaren P1 Spied

Sun, 18 Nov 2012

The McLaren P1 supercar has been spotted out testing in Diss in Norfolk making a visit to a McLaren supplier. We got the public reveal of the McLaren P1 – the spiritual successor to the iconic McLaren F1 – at the Paris Motor Show in September, and the McLaren boys told us the car was 95 per cent of how the final P1 would look. Which seems to be borne out by these spy photos of the P1.

BMW M4 gets noisy (2013): listen to the new M4’s turbo straight-six here

Tue, 13 Aug 2013

With the unveiling of the new BMW M4 imminent, BMW’s excitement has got the better of it with the M Division releasing a video showing featuring the new M4’s engine note. The video might be called ‘BMW M is preparing something new’, but the engine isn’t really a fresh design. It’s actually a tweaked, twin-turbo version of the 435i’s 3.0-litre straight-six, making this the first M Division 3-series derivative to use forced induction.

Who's Where: Dave Rand resigns from Changan Automobile

Mon, 27 Feb 2012

Dave Rand, the former General Motors Design Chief, has resigned from the Chinese State-owned automaker after joining the company last October. Rand's resignation, which was made official last week, follows that of his senior at Changan, Ken Ma who stepped down as Vice President of Design earlier this year. It is not clear precisely why both men have decided to leave the Chinese carmaker, but several people familiar with the situation have said that both Rand and Ma's departures are connected with Changan Auto's recent financial difficulties.
