I have had this unit on my car for about 15 years. But the car has only 14,000 miles so there is very little use on it. It retards the spark if is detects a knock condition. The display units shows when it is retarding. It also shows the air/fuel ratio. It must be mounted inside the car, away from the heat in the engine compartment.
Comes with the original installation manual. You can look the company up online and details of how it works. My car did not turn out to have as high a compression as I thought and thus I do not need this unit. I no longer run the car at the strip and thus am not experimenting with a lot of advance in the distributor. I am no longer experimenting with jets and fuel ratio, so I no longer need to know the air/fuel ratio. Obviously, I cut the various connecting wires to length for my car, with the exception of the Dual Monitor. Depending on your setup you may need to lengthen some wires. If you are unhappy with the unit I will allow a one year guarantee, where you can return it and get a full refund of your purchase price, not including the shipping. When we had the reveal of the new Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake last week we bemoaned the fact that all the UK was getting was a pair of diesel-powered CLS’s.
