Skoda Superb (2008): first official pictures

Wed, 09 Jan 2008

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 09 January 2008 10:58 Skoda’s biggest car – the Superb – will be replaced in autumn 2008. The new Superb is unveiled today ahead of its show debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March – and it’s received a welcome dose of style over today’s taxi-special that majors on a vast, echoing interior over any recognisable form of chic. The new Superb is even bigger than the current model; this one is 4838mm long and 1783mm wide, but it’s slightly lower than before for a sleeker, lower look.

Smart ForTwo Brabus

Fri, 09 Mar 2007

By Tim Pollard Motor Shows 09 March 2007 11:31 Smart ForTwo Brabus: the lowdown With a third more power than the outgoing Brabus, the new ForTwo looks set to be quite a pocket rocket. The newcomer, unveiled at Geneva, packs a punchy 98bhp and has a sprightly 780kg to carry around, so Smart is promising warm-hatch performance for the first time in a ForTwo. Okay, so it won't trouble the GTI brigade, but the new Brabus will crack 62mph in 9.9sec and is so fast they've had to limit it to 155.

CAR interviews new Renault design chief Laurens van den Acker (2009)

Thu, 15 Oct 2009

By Guy Bird Motor Industry 15 October 2009 10:29 CAR: How did you get the top design job at Renault? LvdA: From what I’ve been told [outgoing design boss] Patrick le Quément was asked to come up with three candidates, two internal and one external, and somehow I bubbled to the top of the external candidates. I think the criteria included international experience, being relatively young and having a good record.
