Jaguar E-Type - Series 1, 1.5, & 2 - LH Rear Inner Wheel Arch Section

This is one LH rear inner wheel arch assembly section - it is ONE PIECE of Jaguar Part # BD15226.  It fits all Series 1, 1.5, and 2 Coupes (FHC), Roadsters (OTS), and 2+2's.  The entire assembly is different for each body style, but this section is the same on all models.  It is formed from cold-rolled steel and patterned after the original piece.  It is guaranteed to be correct in every dimension - although I will admit that due to the hand-built nature of these cars, AND the tricky shape of this piece, this is one of the harder pieces to fit.  BUT, have no fear, we mashed an original dead flat to get this patterned correctly - it's RIGHT!  The panel is delivered in fresh, bare steel, ready for the quality primer and paint of your choice - you will not have to spend time stripping off the low-quality, black "shipping primer" that some other manufacturers use...

FINALLY - you can replace JUST a section of this assembly, and save HUNDREDS!  - This panel is almost always rusted...  However, the upper sections of the inner rear wheel arch are usually OK.  This panel has never been available on it's own - only as a part of the overall assembly - which costs $370 from the usual suppliers!  Many people purchase that and only use this piece - or worse, are "guilted" into replacing the whole assembly, cutting into the shell much more than they need to and opening up things they wish they hadn't...  We have reproduced the entire assembly in our fabrication shop, but are offering this section as a separate piece at a reasonable price.

Please Note - there are photos of the complete assembly to show you where this piece goes, but this auction is for the outer section shown in the first photo ONLY!  Grab it quick if you need it - we only have a few formed up!

Satisfaction 100% GUARANTEED! – All Monocoque Metalworks panels are guaranteed to be manufactured correctly, fit properly, and be suitable for a 100-point concours restoration.

See our other auctions for other panels for your E-Type restoration!

We also have the RH side, of course - contact us!

MONOCOQUE METALWORKS

Monocoque Metalworks  is a fabrication shop located in Northeastern Maryland that specializes in Jaguar E-Type (XKE) body shell restoration.  If you are restoring your E-Type, the best place to start is a rock-solid bodyshell (or tub), and we can help!  We offer services ranging from the fabrication of a single panel to the construction of an entirely NEW bodyshell!

FABRICATION AND SHIPPING OF ORIGINAL OR CUSTOM BODY PANELS – we have patterns and examples of nearly every E-Type panel and can fabricate any panel you need for your restoration.  Before you spend hundreds (or thousands) of dollars on Martin Robey panels that may or may not fit properly, give us a try!  OR, call us as the ONLY supplier of many of the smaller, internal panels that Martin Robey doesn’t supply (or lists in their catalog but don’t actually produce…)  Want some extra holes punched? – or some original holes not included? – or the panel produced in a heavier gauge? - no problem!

COMPLETE RESTORATION OF YOUR TUB – we will take in your monocoque bodyshell, strip it down to bare metal, and replace all damaged or rusted panels using the proper techniques.  Your shell will be returned to you in primer, dead straight, rock-solid, safe, and EXACTLY as it left the factory.

TUB EXCHANGE – looking to save time?  Exchange your existing monocoque bodyshell for one of our already restored shells (subject to availability).  You’ll arrive at the shop, unload your shell, and load up a completely restored, PERFECT shell and be back on your way in a few hours!  With this service, we can cut your project time down by YEARS!  Plus, you can exchange one body style for another – drop off a Coupe or 2+2 shell and take home a roadster!

TUB MODIFICATION – we can “beef up” your tub with heavier gauge components for vintage racing, or add complete sub-frames, roll bars or cages.  If you can imagine it, we can fabricate it!

FABRICATION OF AN ENTIRELY NEW TUB – we can build you an entire floor assembly with sills, gussets, tunnel, etc. – a complete cowl/firewall assembly – or an entirely NEW bodyshell!

COMPONENT RESTORATION – We will happily restore any piece you care to ship us and return it to you in as-new condition.  This includes, but is not limited to: bonnet components, heaters, door shells, decklids, coupe hatches, etc.

E-Type restoration is a labor of love at Monocoque Metalworks!  The shop is outfitted with INDUSTRIAL GRADE MACHINES – many of which are vintage machines themselves – carefully restored and modified with the correct tooling to produce perfect E-Type panels.  As a result, you will be amazed by the crisp cuts, straight bends, and perfect holes found on our panels!  We have forming capabilities that include shearing, braking, rolling, wire-edging, bead-rolling, notching and punching – in aluminum, steel, or stainless steel - up to and including 16-gauge (.060) or beyond.  We utilize a combination of MIG, TIG, Spot, and Plug welding to ensure that your car is assembled with factory-like originality, coupled with strength and safety you can depend on!

Over 25 years of automotive restoration experience, specializing in E-Types.  My first car was a 3.8 roadster, and I have driven, raced, wrecked, and restored these cars ever since.  I know the cars intimately, and can provide references attesting to that fact.  However, restoring the E-Type’s monocoque shell has always been my true passion!  Let me indulge myself on your project – you will not find a more experienced and enthusiastic partner for your restoration!

BOOK NOW!  We are booking shell restorations continuously - so don't wait to call, lock in your spot now!  I have restorable Series 1 Coupe and 2+2 tubs with straight roofs and quarters in stock, and can supply roadsters as well - plus a large selection of doors, decklids, hatches, hinges, bonnet pieces, etc.  And you don't have to wait until your car is all stripped down – call now and we’ll start building a solid tub TODAY and exchange it for yours later this year!

Located just outside of Newark, DE, with easy access to I-95.  No job is too big or too small!  Give us a ring and let’s discuss your project – whether it’s one panel or the restoration of an entire body shell, we can handle it – with the attention to detail and ENTHUSIASM you’re looking for!

Hyundai Veloster Turbo arrives early

Mon, 09 Jan 2012

Hyundai Veloster Turbo - first photos The Hyundai Veloster Turbo will arrive officially later today at the Detroit Motor Show, but we already have the first photos of Hyundai’s hot hatch. Apart from the daft looking Hyundai Hexa Space that turned up at Delhi last week, all Hyundai’s latest offerings have been pretty much on the money, none more so than the very convincing Veloster. But there was just one thing we didn’t like about the new Veloster – it’s lack of oomph.

The most beautiful cars at Pebble Beach and Monterey week 2013

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

It’s said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but there are some car designs that just work brilliantly – ones that few will ever argue are anything other than beautiful. These are two dozen such cars – we reckon all are landmark designs that will always look nothing less than stunning.

BMW M3 Convertible (2008): first official pictures

Fri, 18 Jan 2008

By Stephen Dobie First Official Pictures 18 January 2008 15:08 The M3 family has swelled further with BMW’s announcement of the new convertible version - and a twin-clutch gearbox. This is the first M3 with a folding metal hardtop, and the first with BMW's new transmission. It's a new seven-speed gearbox called M DCT gearbox – a double-clutch affair (like VW's seven-speed DSG) allowing near-instant changes, with little drop in power.
