The box I sent to you with the S3 "used" bumpers also arrived okay. I openned up the pieces and your work is that of a true craftsman. This is not the first time I have dealt with chrome bumpers but I can tell you for sure that this is the best quality I have ever seen. I sure wish you did just regular old chroming - your quality is excellent!!! Thanks for an excellent product and produced at a "VERY" fair price! Mike O'Rourke.

RE-PLACING 1972 STYLE BUMPERS ON A 1974 XKE This is a job that (in my opinion) will greatly enhance the appearance of the 1974 XKE. And while it is not a simple “bolt-on” project, it can be accomplished by the auto-hobbyist home mechanic. To do the operation as detailed below will require some shop equipment. An oxy-acetylene welder is necessary as well as normal hand-tools. A drill press is desirable, as is a grinder and an air-powered hack saw. It is necessary to remove the bonnet panel immediately in front of the front wheel (called the “head lamp diaphragm” in the XKs Unlimited catalog). Also remove the head lamp chrome finishers, the head lamp “eyebrow, and then the Head lamp “sugar scoop”. This gives good access to the interior of the bonnet. Front Bumper: The “before” look is shown in picture #1. Pic #2 is after removal of the old bumpers, the grill, and the rubber blocks. Pic #3 shows the rubber block retainer hardware removed. Pic #4 - The bolt holding the upper and lower strut-bracing is removed, as well as the bolts and bracket holding the upper strut to the bonnet, and then the upper strut is removed along with its horizontal plate that fits in the bonnet seam (held by two ¼-20 bolts). Pic #5 – The lower strut-brace is sectioned with a hack saw inside the bonnet. and the outer piece removed. Temporarily place the new bumper blade on the car in a level position, and mark the position for the front mounting hole (approximately ½ inch above the bonnet seam and approximately 3 inches from the edge of the grill opening). Refer to Pic #11 (which shows the mounting bolt installed) for reference. Drill the mounting hole to accept a 3/8 bolt. The front bumper mount bracket is fabricated from 1/8 inch steel and a 1 inch long 3/8 X 24 bolt. The completed bracket is shown in Pic #6, which also shows the hole to mount the bracket inside the bonnet. Pic #10 shows the front mount bracket in place (view from inside the bonnet). Pic #11 shows the mounting bolt, and Pics #12 & 13 show the new bumper test-mounted. I also fabricated and installed a reinforcement for the front bumper mount. This is not absolutely necessary for the bumper, but should give much increased strength. I used ¾ inch steel square-tube, fabricated as shown in Pics #7 & 8, and installed as shown in Pics # 9 & 10. It is attached in the front at the same ¼-20 bolt as the front bumper mount, and in the rear at the bonnet hinge bracket. Rear Bumper: This is a “bolt-on” process. No fabrication required. Simply remove the old bumpers and rubber blocks (Pic #14), then the “box-structure” from the center (Pic #15 & 16). The new bumpers are test-fitted in Pic #17. You may wish to purchase a Stainless Steel License Panel to dress up the rear center section.

The Intrado is designed to be as lightweight as possible, hinting at what Hyundai sees as the future of family cars.

Lamborghini Aventador J Roadster revealed officially

Mon, 05 Mar 2012

Lamborghini Aventador J Roadster After the leak of the Lamborghini Aventador J over the weekend, tonight we get the official reveal of Lamborghini’s stripped-out Aventador Roadster When we ran leaked photos of the Lamborghini Aventador J Roadster at the weekend we said it threatened to steal a bit of Ferrari’s limelight at the Geneva Motor Show – and it will. The Aventador J  Roadster is Aventador to the max, with all fripperies – including the windscreen and roof sacrificed in the pursuit of low weight and extreme performance. Lamborghini say the Aventador J is a four-wheeled sport-bike, and they’re not wrong.
