How to install Jetter in the vehicle

We recommend strongly that you entrust a professional with installing the Jetter. In case of a Jetter’s failure caused by wrong fitting (squeezed or bent contact pins, damaged device wiring or housing etc.) the warranty on it will become void. If you want to try installing the device on your own, here you will find illustrated step-by-step instructions.

Caution! Be careful when unplugging and reattaching the connector of the accelerator pedal module that you do not damage any contact pins.

1

Turn OFF the ignition.

2

Wait 60 to 180 seconds after turning off the ignition before proceeding with removal of the wiring harness connector from the accelerator pedal (on various car models the power supply of the engine management sensors is cut off with a delay programmed in the ECU factory settings).

3

If necessary, remove the accelerator pedal from the vehicle following instructions given in the repair manual for the respective car model.

4

Press on the retainer located on the end face (Ford Focus cars) or the lateral face (Ford Fiesta cars) of the vehicle’s wiring harness connector to unlock the connector. Unplug the harness from the accelerator pedal module by lifting up the connector.

On Mazda 3 cars, lift up by approximately 10 mm the red retainer located on the end face of the connector to unplug the connector from the accelerator pedal. Then remove the pedal following instructions given in the car repair manual.

On Opel cars, pull out by approximately 10 mm the red retainer located on the end face of the vehicle's wiring harness connector to release projecting pins of the pedal connector. Disconnect the harness and the accelerator pedal. Remove the pedal following instructions given in the car repair manual.

Now you can proceed with installation of the Jetter.

5

Attach the Jetter’s connector socket to the accelerator pedal plug by pushing the parts together until they are locked by the retainer. On Focus 3, Ford Fiesta 2009 and later cars the retainer for locking the Jetter housing on the pedal module connector must be positioned on the side of the dashboard’s central console. On Ford Fiesta cars built before 2008, as well as on Ford Fusion cars the retainer locking the Jetter housing on the pedal connector must be positioned on the left side of the accelerator pedal assembly.

To fit Jetter on Opel, Mazda 6, BMW and Mercedes cars it is necessary to remove the accelerator pedal from the vehicle.

The Jetter for Opel cars has a specifically designed connector (the same as used on the harness leading to the accelerator pedal). When installing Jetter in the vehicle, fit the connector parts in reverse order. If needed, remove the pedal following instructions given in the car repair manual.

6

Attach the stock connector of the vehicle’s wiring harness to Jetter on the side of the plug located on the Jetter housing by pushing the connection parts together until they are locked in the Jetter’s retainer, or by putting the retainer of the harness connector in the respective position (for example, as on Mazda 3 or Opel cars).

7

Reinstall the accelerator pedal following instructions given in the repair manual for the respective car model.

8

Turn ON the ignition, wait one minute, then press and release the accelerator pedal without starting the engine.

9

Start the engine with the accelerator pedal released.

10

Reaccelerate several times to check subjectively for correct functioning of the accelerator pedal and running of the engine.

11

The CHECK ENGINE indicator light on the vehicle’s dashboard should be off. If the indicator is on, turn off the ignition and check the connections betweenJetter, wiring harness of the car and the accelerator pedal module for a reliable contact.

12

Perform test drive.

.

If you want to remove Jetter from the vehicle, proceed in reverse order

About the device

In the past, the throttle was controlled by a cable, and now it is operated electronically! When you heated the gas in a car with a cable-controlled throttle, it responded instantly. Try to do this now, and you'll see what happens. There is no more fun from driving. The automobile became a sort of an "electronic mediocrity".

Do you want the control cable back? It’s not that easy! You have to re-design half a vehicle. The only solution is to make the electronics work for you in a desired way.

Jetter corrects the problem. It converts accelerator pedal input signals so as to make your vehicle “feel” more powerful via the engine ECU.The drive-by-wire throttle response delay becomes a phenomenon of the past.

It is not like chip tuning with which you get a “rich-burn” and often also a knocking engine. Jetter compels the stock ECM to work in a new way in order to supply the engine cylinders with fuel mixture quicker. It is precisely this effect that improves the performance of your car.

Those who had installed Jetter felt immediately that the vehicle became “peppier” and more fun to drive. A comment from one of the drivers: “Now I want to live in my car”.

O.K., there is no problem to purchase a Jetter. Suppose, you have obtained the device. The first question is – what to do with it? In reality everything is simple. Above all, read carefully the installation instructions and follow them step by step. However, if you are not sure of your skills, you’d better apply to a service center to have the Jetter fitted by a specialist.

Ford C-Max & Grand C-Max get 1.0 litre EcoBoost

Tue, 16 Oct 2012

Ford has announced that the C-Max and Grand C-Max can now be had with the 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine with either 100PS or 125PS. It looks like Ford are determined to offer the little 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine in every car they make. In fact, if they still built a proper D-Segement car like the Scorpio it would probably find its way there too.
