Long shaft lower unit from 75 hp Johnson. Came from a 1976 75hp 3 cylinder. Model# 75elr76 large case lower unit. Shifted and worked good when used last. Power head lost the lower main bearing. Has a complete omc replacement water pump on it with less than 2 hours of use. A previous owner ground down the skeg a little but it doesn't affect use. Comes with a 17" prop in good useable condition. Local pickup only.

Concils 'confident' over winter salt stockpiles

COUNCILS are confident they can cope with bad-weather conditions on the roads this winter. A survey shows that local authorities in England and Wales have stockpiled more salt for this winter than last. A total of 1.3 million tonnes was stockpiled for winter 2012/13 and the Local Government Association (LGA) shows that 95% of councils are either maintaining or increasing stock levels this winter.

'Bin the booster', says car seat maker

A CAR CHILD seat manufacturer is urging parents to bin booster seats amid claims of ‘dangers’ involved in using them for older kids. Britax, which manufactures child seats for youngsters up to 135cm tall, or about 12 years old, claims that its own research suggests 49% of seating setups for 4-12-year-olds could be unsafe. Some form of child seat is legally required until a child reaches 135cm in height, to ensure that the seat belt crosses their chest at the correct and safe height, but Britax claims to have found many belts to have been fitted incorrectly.
