Fitment: 2012-2014 Volkswagen Jetta V 1.6L L4 DSL The K&N 69-9756TFK Typhoon air intake system is
a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system. The
restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the
K&N Typhoon air intake which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow
restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. This allows your engine to
inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air intake. More air means more
usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 69-9756TFK
air intake comes with a black rubber topped K&N high-flow air filter and a
heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed
through the intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power
gain. The intake tube has an attractive black powder-coat finish that's made to
last and it accommodates the factory mass air sensor and vacuum line. The
oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before
servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is
relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory
mounting points. The tools needed are a couple of screwdrivers, pliers, and
some wrenches. Some Typhoon air intakes are not legal for sale or use in
California and other states adopting California emission standards while others
are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the K&N catalog or website for

As well as the 1.3-litre 75bhp diesel, and 1.4-litre 100bhp petrol, the range will now start with a 1.2-litre 69bhp petrol engine that Fiat had originally said wouldn’t be coming to the UK. A base 1.2-litre in Pop spec will start at just £7900, rising up to £10,700 for a top-level 1.4-litre.

Volkswagen hits back, weighs making a bid for Porsche
Thu, 23 Apr 2009Volkswagen is considering an audacious reverse-takeover bid for its majority shareholder, Porsche, in a twist in the drawn-out struggle for control between the two German carmakers. The Volkswagen Group's supervisory board is said to be weighing the possibility of purchasing Porsche AG, in a move that would relieve its holding company, Porsche SE, of massive debt that industry analysts suggest the company may not be able to fund should the world's financial crisis drag on well into 2010--a scenario put forward this week by the International Monetary Fund. The secret plan emerged as shareholders were set to convene at Volkswagen's annual meeting on Thursday, and it comes after Porsche revealed that it is carrying some 9 billion euros ($11.73 billion) in debt, most of it owing to interest on loans taken out to purchase its 50.8 percent stake in VW.
