Kawasaki Concours 1400 Staintune Slip-On Exhaust  / New In Box / We all know that the factory Concours exhaust can is as butt-ugly as Nick Nolte's mug shot. Here's the sweet looking alternative you've been looking for. Staintune exhausts are simply the best looking, best sounding exhausts on the market!  It’s smaller, quieter, sleeker, has a removable baffle, never needs re-packing, and IMHO.. is simply beautiful. The quality is second to none and we all know there are a lot of cheap-ass systems available for the mighty 1400. The Staintune is made for the Concours 14 owner who wants only the best.

KA MS GTR 14  - All years Kawasaki GTR1400 Touring single Oval Sports Muffler

We are a Staintune vendor in NC. This particular kit was special ordered by a customer and he didn't come though with the sale. Rather than ship it back to Australia, we're offering it here at a discount. FYI.. Retail from our website was $840   I should add.. Staintune has suspended all sales into the USA... This was kit was  in our last shipment and there will be no more imported into this country. Bottom line.. this is your last chance to get one... Period.

Note: According to their literature, Staintune exhausts systems will outlast all others, especially under the high-heat, high-corrosion demands of urban driving. The effort required to use only stainless-steel pays off in the long run for you. Even after the 12-month warranty has expired, small scuffs and surface imperfections can be polished out at any machine shop for a reasonable charge.

The Australian made 100% Stainless Steel Staintune is the ONLY aftermarket exhaust on the market that features a removable sound restrictor. This allows you to adjust the sound levels to your liking. This Staintune comes with the SS Oval canister only. This kit fits all model year Kawasaki 1400s.

INSTALLATION: On a scale from 1-10.. its about a 2.  I did one recently. There are only 3 bolts holding the oem can on. Install can be accomplished by any owner with a decent set of hand tools and at least a chimp-like intellect. Working carefully you should have the old muffler off and the new Staintune in place in about 30 minutes. Line up everything before tightening the bolts.

RESULTS: It weighs exactly half as much as did the stock setup-- The look is classy and aggressive. The Staintune offers a small (5-7 hp) increase in horsepower on an otherwise stock bike. The sound is superb. This kit comes with a restrictor/baffle  that allows the owner to choose from two different exhaust notes--one just a little louder than stock and the other pretty rowdy. I prefer the quieter sound with the restrictors in place.

CLEANING:  Staintune's recommends their own polish called Liquid Mirror Polish. Wenol or Semi-Chrome Polish are very good, but we prefer Boms Away. Why? It's an unabrasive liquid and is simply easier to use involving less effort/time. It also leaves a glass-like finish on the metal when done. Of course, all of these polishing compounds do require a little "effort" as the main ingredient. Is the 'tune worth it? Absof#*#inlutely!.

BTW.. I apologize that this is the ONLY photo I have of this kit installed.. If any potential buyers would like me to remove it from the box and take a few more pics.. I'd be glad to do that...Just ask..

Town/country fuel price gap closes

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

THE PETROL PUMP postcode lottery, meaning rural drivers lose out to town motorists on price, appears to be coming to an end. The gap between prices in country districts compared with urban areas has closed from around 5p a litre to as low as 2p, according to the AA. This dip in rural prices has contributed to a general nationwide fall in the cost of petrol, which now averages 129.63p a litre compared with 130.46p in mid-January.

BMW M5 (2011) the first official video

Fri, 04 Mar 2011

BMW has started its hype generator for the upcoming M5, with this first online teaser video. I'm at the office and can't watch the footage right now – what can we see of the new BMW M5?  It's officially called a 'first glimpse', and in and amongst shots of a partially-camouflaged prototype M5 roaring through a tunnel and powersliding along a snowy test track, M Division boss Dr Kay Siegler appears talking about the new car in the workshop of M HQ. Segler introduces the new M5 as 'a bold business car, which at the touch of a button, becomes a sports car'. The new BMW M5 - the lowdown The new F10M-spec M5 is downsizing from the E60's 5.0-litre V10 for the same 550bhp 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 found in the X5M and X6M. But rather than the torque convertor autos used by the SUV pair, the new motor is mated to a beefed-up version of the the seven-speed M-DCT double-clutch transmission currently serving in the M3.
