Kawasaki ZL900 & ZL1000 Eliminator +4º Ignition Advancer & Gasket

•Above is my ZL900/ZL1000 Eliminator +4º Advancer

An “Advancer” is an ignition rotor that has a different location of the “trigger” points. The trigger points control the ignition by whizzing past the ignition pickup. Usually they are advanced from stock, but like the turbo guys know, sometimes a retarded advancer is needed. Stock ZRX ignition timing is 10 degrees before top dead center at idle. My ZRX +4º is 14 degrees and my +2º is 12 degrees BTDC. The ZRX really can use these. I used to say they did not, but thru my research I learned that there have been advancers with +0.5º out there, that when installed, made virtually zero difference and that is the cause for this inconsistency in performance reports.

My advancers are made with an aircraft Laser, they are on the money! The triggers are all uniform in size, unlike the stock punched-out ones. And, being of 400 Series Stainless, they have greater magnetic pull and make a crisper on-off of the timing pickup. The triggers are all correctly spaced where they should have been from the factory. You bike will more than likely be smoother running.

I have a lot of my advancers on the road now, and everyone has good comments on them. The most interesting comments are smoother running and easier starting...the smoothness is because of the accuracy of the laser cutting. Advancing the timing often lowers the peak coolant temp a bit...an old hotrodders’ trick... and also can raise the gas mileage slightly. The best result is the increased throttle response and roll-on acceleration. You will like my advancers, I am so confident, I am offering a money-back guarantee if you do not. I have sold hundreds with no dissatisfied customers.

Easy Advancer Advance Pick?
ZRX with stock compression with stock ignition ECU, run +4º
ZRX with 12:1 or 12.5:1 compression motors, or ZRXs with a ZX11D ignition ECU run the +2º
ZX11 with stock compression, run +4º
ZX11 with 12:1 compression, run +2º
Any ZRX1100 or 1200R with ZX11D ECU, with any or no mods: ZX11D +2
ZL900, ZL1000 or ZZR1200 with stock compression, run +4º
Yamaha FZ1 with stock compression, run +4º

Again, these are really +2 and +4 degree advancers, created with some pretty exact aircraft laser technology. My Advancers are guaranteed to increase your throttle response, or return for a refund. You’ll like ‘em! ...a lot! Even I’m impressed.     ...true story...

Engine of the Year Winners: Ford 1.0 litre EcoBoost is top dog

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

Ford’s 1.0 Litre EcoBoost wins Engine of the Year 2013 If anything is going to overturn the received wisdom that all small cars should come with a diesel engine, it’s Ford’s 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine. Torquey, lively and frugal, the 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine is a little marvel, a fact recognised for the second year running by the judging panel for the Engine of the Year Awards,  which has given the 1.0 litre EcoBoost the highest ever marks in the award’s fifteen year history. A total of 87 car journalists from 35 countries were hugely impressed with the power, torque and small size of the Ford engine, with one journalist, Peter Lyon, commenting: “Who’d have believed it?

45,000 complain about used car buys

Thu, 10 Oct 2013

USED CARS bought from independent dealers drew the highest number of complaints from disgruntled consumers in the last year, according to new figures. Citizens Advice has called on retailers to display consumer rights information at checkouts after more than half a million people complained about shoddy products worth £3.5 billion in the last year. Figures show 45,000 used car buyers lodged a complaint in the year to February, followed by 12,000 regarding mobile phone contracts and 11,500 about repairs by an independent garage.
