Design Services: Car Menu launched
Wed, 18 May 2005Within almost every automotive design department throughout the world, their comes a time when a junior designer is dispatched to find a picture of some new model's tail lamp, the side view of a particular class leading competitor or examples of several new cars' colour and trim packages. Whilst looking at the competition is not necessarily a healthy way of finding ideas, it is often essential to demonstrate what is feasible, check in-house proposals are not too derivative, or show how advanced a design theme is relative to the same type of cars on the market. Valuable 1932 Ford stolen before Goodguys car show, recovered the next day
Wed, 21 Sep 2011Authorities have recovered a valuable Ford Deuce coupe stolen before the Goodguys car show last weekend in Indianapolis. The 1932 Ford, estimated to be worth $300,000, was taken on Friday from a car hauler in a hotel parking lot, the Indiana State Police said. The car was found in the driveway of a vacant house on the city's southwest side after being spotted by a citizen who tipped off police.

In simple terms, Jaguar wants to be seen (and respected) beyond the automotive realm: "We want to connect with other designers and have our designers learn from designers in other fields," advanced design director Julian Thomson told Car Design News.
