DRIVERS are voting with their feet over parking charges, with most prepared to walk so they do not have to pay. On average, drivers are willing to walk up to half a mile to dodge parking charges, a survey from market research company Viewsbank found. Renault and Design Boom have announced the ten designs that have been shortlisted in their ‘Renault 4 Ever’ design competition. Over 3,200 projects were submitted by design enthusiasts from 92 different countries after Renault, in collaboration with Design Boom, released a brief calling for designs that re-created the ‘look and style' of the iconic Renault 4, capture the functionality and minimalistic philosophy of the original while respecting its identity and iconic status. RECORDS were broken at the recent Silverstone Auctions event, as the two day sale generated more than £5 million and secured some of the highest prices seen to date. One highlight of the sale was a 1979 Ferrari 308 GTS, which was hammered away for a premium inclusive £82,225 - more than £50,000 over its lower estimate and a world record for the model. Not to be outdone, a 1989 Ferrari 328 GTS sold for a premium inclusive £77,050, breaking another world record.
