GM opens Advanced Design Studio in Seoul
Tue, 20 Apr 2010General Motors has opened a new Advanced Design Studio in Seoul, Korea, the American automaker announced today (April 20). GM is set to leverage its position in the trendy Gangnam area of the Korean city, recently coined the 2010 World Design Capital. The Gangnam location puts the Seoul Advanced Design Studio in the heart of the nation's center of culture, the arts, fashion and industry.

Since the import brand has never sold a hybrid, officials will be attempting to learn which marketing chord resonates more with its customers: performance or fuel economy. He will be responsible for both advanced and production design for the Korean brand and replaces Phil Zak, who left the company early in 2011 to return to GM. He will report to SukGeun Oh, Head of Design, Senior Executive Vice President Hyundai Design Center.
