This is an auto on/off unit that will only begin charging if your 36v battery bank is charged enough to begin the charge cycle. If your battery bank has fully discharged you will need to tend to that issue before attaching this charger. Currently has a crow's foot plug but you can easily change with cord from your bad unit.

And yes, it does have a look of the TVG on the snout, and promises to be able to carry almost as much luggage as the nippy French train.
