LEXUS DASH LIGHTS

You are bidding on a service to repair your printed circuit boards.

If you own a '93 or '94 Lexus LS400 you are probably having trouble with your dash lights or soon will have. Lexus is aware of the problem but won't warranty it since these cars are now 18 years old. The Lexus dealer will charge you from $1400 to $2000 to repair your instrument cluster lights. Actually, they replace 2 circuit boards located behind the instrument cluster. They then throw your old boards away, they don't repair them. The new boards that you just purchased from Lexus have the same built-in design flaw as the originals and are doomed to fail as well.

I'm an electronics engineer and I have reverse engineered their boards and have found this design flaw. I have repaired my own as well as many others. I guarantee my work on those circuit boards for as long as you own the car. Read the following description of the problem carefully. If it sounds like your problem, you should bid on this repair service and get yours fixed. If you trade in your Lexus with the dash lights not working, you're going to get a LOT less money for your car than you would otherwise get.

The Symptoms

When you first start your 93 or 94 LS400 especially on cold mornings, the dash lights won't come on and the fuel gauge shows empty. Then as the car warms up, the lights begin to flicker on and off rapidly and the fuel gauge swings from empty to whatever amount of fuel that you have. After several minutes, they will finally come on and stay on for the rest of the day. The fuel gauge also works. As months go by the problem will only get worse until the lights will refuse to come on at all. The fuel gauge won't work, and you can't see the speedometer or the odometer!

In addition to the above problems some vehicles may experience a very slow reacting fuel gauge. After a fill-up, the needle may take 15 minutes or more to climb to 3/4 of a tank. Many times, the gauge will never quite reach the full mark even though you just filled it with fuel. Although this is a separate circuit board design problem, I now include this repair as well. If you purchase my repair service for either one of the above problems, I repair both of the problems with this purchase whether it's symptoms are evident yet or not at the time.

IMPORTANT  PLEASE READ THIS

This Ebay purchase is for the REPAIR OF YOUR CIRCUIT BOARDS. This repair fixes the most common problems that most people have with this model of instrument cluster. However, there are other problems that your instrument cluster can have that this repair WILL NOT FIX. For example, if you have a problem where the speedometer or tachometer stick at zero intermittently this repair is not going to fix that problem. Also, if you have darkened or partially lit needle pointers or broken needle pointers this repair will not fix your problem either. If you have these problems or any problem with your instrument cluster I can fix those problems too but it's not this repair. Look for my other repair on Ebay. Look for whole instrument cluster rebuild or exchange. That repair is for the whole instrument cluster and will fix all problems. That repair is $475.

What do I get if I'm the successful bidder?

I will email you detailed instructions on how you or your mechanic can remove the instrument cluster and remove the circuit boards from the cluster. I'll send you my mailing address, my email address, and my phone number in case you need help in the removal process. I'll instruct you on how to handle and mail them to me for the shortest possible down time. When your boards arrive, I'll test them to make sure that you have the problem as described above. If you don't have the problem, I'll send them back to you, and refund the amount that you paid for them less my cost of Paypal, eBay, and shipping them back to you (about $23). If you do have the problem as described, I'll repair them the same day as I receive them and ship them back to you the very next day. I normally use US Postal Service Priority Mail (2 day average) at no charge to you. Yes, you heard right, FREE shipping. If you want Express Mail shipping (1 day), let me know and I can ship them back that way for a small additional fee.

Are you for real?

I have sold my repair to many people over the internet long before I started selling it on eBay. I have a lot of very satisfied customers and NO unsatisfied ones. If you are skeptical about bidding on this. You can check me out by going to some of the Lexus Forums where they talk about the dash light problem and about my repair. Club Lexus or Lexus Owners Club are two sites that have some of my satisfied customers making gracious comments about the repair that I have done for them. If you want direct references, contact me and I'll provide email addresses of some of my customers that you can ask directly. Also please take the time to read my feedback. You'll notice that Lexus electronic repairs are just about ALL that I do on eBay and I'm quite proud of my reputation and I intend to keep it that way!

.

Beware of Copycats!

The work I do on these circuit boards is a true rebuild, not just a simple repair of the immediate problem. What's the difference? Well, my rebuild not only takes care of the immediate problem, but I go much further and replace any other marginal or near out-of-tolerance components that are found. Just one example of this is the fuel gauge that is inaccurate and slow to react after a fill-up. That problem is always corrected as part of my routine rebuild. That is just one example of many such problems that I perform as a "preemptive strike" for you. You may not have even had that particular problem yet, but it is a known common problem that will eventually show up. It won't ever show up if I rebuild the boards! The copycats don't do those extras. Also, eBay feedback is important. Look to see if you want to do business with someone that has never or seldom repaired these circuit boards before. Also, take the time to read the feedback on the sale of this type of repair. Make sure that their prior customers are happy with those repairs. Why would anyone want to keep those comments "Private"? I can assure you that ALL my feedback is positive and never hidden under the disguise of "Private". In addition take a look at the items that they are selling. It becomes obvious that they are selling junk parts that they have gathered at a wrecking yard to resell on Ebay. For the past 12 years, I have done only one type of repair. I only repair LS400 Instrument Clusters. I'm the first, I'm the best, and I actually stand behind my warranty and honor it if needed.

What about other models?

I currently stock all parts and have test equipment for all LS400 year models. Please call or email if you need the help of THE LEXPERT.

 What about exchanges?

Yes, I can now do an exchange with you please contact me for details about doing an exchange for a whole rebuilt Instrument Cluster.  Check out my other items!

How about my Climate Control Unit? The screen is black and unreadable.

I can also replace the blacked out LCD screen and rebuild your 90-94 LS400 Climate Control Unit for you. That's the unit just above the radio that displays the TIME and TEMPERATURE. That is NOT part of this auction, but if you want to find out more about that rebuild such as the price, removal instructions, etc., please contact me and I'll be happy to send that information to you right away. If you have me rebuild your Climate Control unit at the same time as the circuit board rebuild of your instrument cluster, I can offer you a very significant discount for doing both at the same time.

OK what about shipping?

FREE domestic shipping! That's right, you heard it right!

FREE SHIPPING & HANDLING!!!

I don't believe in ripping people off on the shipping and handling. Not only that, I ship USPS Priority Mail at no charge!!! That's 1-3 days to most locations in the US. If you need faster shipping than that, I'll charge you a little extra to help cover the cost of shipping USPS Express Mail. That is usually 1 day to most US locations! Overseas can vary from country to country, but I will not rip you off on shipping no matter where you live. Please contact me for a quote for your country if you need to.

HOW TO CONTACT ME:

Ebay no longer permits direct links or email addresses on listings. If you need to contact me, just click on ask seller a question and send your question to me using Ebay's message board. Please include your actual email address when you do this. I can then send you my information which includes a PDF attachment containing the removal instructions for the instrument cluster. Ebay's message board does not permit detailed instructions or attachments, so it's important to include your own personal email address when you contact me.

2014 Mercedes C-Class: OFFICIAL – and it looks like a proper baby S-Class

Mon, 16 Dec 2013

The 2014 Mercedes C-Class (pictured) looks like a proper baby S-Class The 2014 (or 2015 if you’re in the US) Mercedes C-Class has finally been officially revealed ahead of its debut at the Detroit Auto Show next month, and it looks to be a convincing take on a proper scaled-down S-Class. With Mercedes launching a more credible range of compact cars beneath the C-Class – with the new A-Class and CLA – targeting younger, funkier buyers, Mercedes has taken the C-Class from the ‘entry-’level’ real Mercedes to become a properly grwon up luxury saloon, just smaller than its E-Class and S-Class siblings. The new C-Class is wider, longer and has a longer wheelbase – with most of the extra 3 inches in the wheelbase benefiting the rear passengers – yet it’s lighter and more dynamic than the model it replaces, thanks in no small part to an aluminium hybrid body that now has up to 50 per cent aluminium in its panels.

Peter Schreyer introduces Kia's new Sportage

Mon, 26 Jul 2010

It's a sign of just how significant the new Sportage is for Kia that rather than flying UK journalists to an international launch location the company instead rented a boutique hotel in London's Notting Hill, created a sketch gallery in the basement and flew in key members of the car's development team to meet the press — who were then lent some the first new Sportage's in the UK to test for a month. One executive present at the event was Kia's Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer. Car Design News was invited to meet with Peter to talk about his role at Kia and for him to talk us through a vehicle Kia is billing as the first to be designed entirely under his tenure.
