Upgrade your Europa! Replacement hand made stainless steel replicas of Lotus Europa S2 part number 054J0708 clutch/brake pedal assembly. The original Europa pedal assemblies were made out of plain steel and eventually rust and corrode away, particularly the base plate. Replacements for the original steel type cost over $400 and they just don’t last. These replicas are made from 304L stainless and will never rust. Assembly is TIG welded for top quality. In addition they have a brass shim insert between the inner and outer tubes to act as a bearing and a larger backstop pin to prevent damage to the floorboard. Fits Federal left hand drive Europa S2 models. Supplied with  four stainless ¼-28 bolts, lock washers and 1” fender washers for reinstallation. I have rubber pedal covers on order and will ship them with the pedals if I get them. This is a bolt-in replacement for the S2 Europa. This may possibly be fitted to an S1 but I can’t determine if any modifications to the assembly or the car would need to be done since I don’t have access to an S1. Only two sets available. I put a set in my car and love it.

Warning: These pedal assemblies were made with the main shaft set forward ½” from where the original design was. This was a slight reproduction error made because the original part used to make the replica was so badly rusted. What this does is cause the tops of the pedals to be set slightly further back (rearward). If you find this unacceptable, you can do one of several things, either drill offset mounting holes in the floorboard or drill another master cylinder attachment hole on the brake pedal and readjust the clutch pedal. Alternatively, you could also fabricate an intermediate base plate that offsets the mount.

Caution: It is necessary for you to use anti-seize compound on the stainless bolt threads to prevent galling of the threads in the stainless nuts. Failure to do so may cause thread damage and binding of the bolts.

It was no secret, for example, that the new M3 sedan and its two-door counterpart, the M4, will be down two cylinders and a few hundred pounds from their predecessors. Now that we've had a chance to get a look at the cars in production trim, here's a closer look at what's under all the aggressively vented fascias, spoilers and M badges.

Ford Model A New York-to-LA record attempt ends in breakdown

Wed, 16 Oct 2013

The New York-to-LA 60-hour record attempt in a 1930 Ford Model A came to an end just outside of Amarillo, Tex., on Tuesday afternoon. After having covered more than 1,700 miles with little incident, aside from an overheating issue in Zanesville, Ohio, that ate up several hours, the car driven by Australians Rod Wade and Michael Flanders suffered a broken crankshaft. The duo planned to set a new record for a pre-war car by driving in their 1930 Ford Model A, nicknamed "Tudor Rose," across the U.S.
