50,000 new drivers lose licence within two years

Sat, 30 Nov 2013

Under current legislation, any new driver who receives six (or more) penalty points within two years of passing their test automatically has their licence revoked. Swiftcover.com has been sifting through the official data, and found that almost 50,000 new drivers have been banned in this fashion in the last four years. On Bing: see pictures of new drivers Find out how much a first car costs on Auto Trader The data, which comes from the Drive and Vehicle Licencing Agency (DVLA), reveals that 48,983 drivers have had their licence revoked under the 1995 Road Traffic (New Drivers) Act since 2009.

Honda confirms 'mobile desk chair'

Thu, 14 Nov 2013

HONDA has announced details for a new version of its existing Uni-Cub ‘personal mobility solution’ – essentially a powered office chair. The Uni-Cub β is a development of the initial concept that appeared in 2012 as a bizarre solution to mobility around typical office-based work environments, although it would seem that no one at Honda had considered that humans have legs for that. It uses an omni-directional driving wheel system derived from Honda’s research into humanoid robots like the well-known ASIMO, allowing it to move in any direction according to the weight shifts of its user.

New Citroen DS3 Cabrio costs from £15,045

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Citroen has revealed the new DS3 Cabrio will cost from £15,045 and come in three trim specs - DSign, DStyle & DSport. The Citroen DS3 is already one of our favourite cars, and Citroen has made sure the DS3 Cabrio still looks good with the roof up – and kept costs in check – by using a similar ‘landaulette’ style roof to the Fiat 500C, where the cabrio but is more like a long, canvas sunroof that site on the boot when open. The new DS3 Cabrio will come in Citroen’s main DS3 trim levels - DSign, DStyle & DSport – with the DS3 VTi 82 Cabrio DSign costing £15.045, the DStyle VTi 120 Cabrio £17,425 and the DSport THP 155 Cabrio £19,675.
