| Sold as unit of measure: EA. Having an alternator on board is an excellent alternative to an AC diesel AC gas or DC generator but your standard alternator will not suffice. Ideally suited for use as a powerful second alternator allowing you to rapidly finish charging and turn the engines off when moored. The 12V Alpha Alternator produces direct current (DC) for your 12 V onboard system to charge batteries (starter service or bow thruster) fast and complete through its 3-step charge characteristic. This alternator can be installed on any engine type. A charge regulator Alpha Pro (3-step) is included and achieves maximum yield from minimum engine hours. A loss in voltage due to wiring and/or battery isolator is automatically compensated for. Using a battery isolator in conjunction with an Alpha alternator makes it possible to easily charge two or three separate battery banks simultaneously. Spyker confirms Peking to Paris will be a V8
Thu, 23 Apr 2009Spyker confirms that the Peking Paris luxury 4x4 will be a V8 not a V12 [ad#ad-1] We brought you an exclusive the other day that Spyker will drop the planned V12 version of its uber-4×4 – The Spyker Peking-Paris D12 – in favour of a supercharged V8 – The Spyker Peking-Paris D8. But it’s always nice to have confirmation from the horses mouth and today, with a financial statement from Spyker, comes a tacit admission (or actual proof, as we like to think of it!) that our story was indeed correct. Spyker talk about the Peking-Paris in their statement, but only ever refer to it as the D8, dropping all references to the D12, which is probably as much as they’re willing to reveal until the car turns up at Frankfurt in September.
GM moving Chevrolet Impala to Detroit plant
Wed, 25 May 2011General Motors said Wednesday that it will build the next-generation Chevrolet Impala at its Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant, adding 2,500 jobs. The current Impala is built at GM's plant in Oshawa, Ontario. The next version is expected to go into production in 2013 or 2014.
