MERCEDES 1969 280SE / SL  LONG BLOCK ENGINE
We pulled this engine out of a 1966 230sl from
California .
It is a 280SE / SL replacement longblock engine
130-980

"The 280 SE/A is correct for the 1970 and 1971 280 SL cars. The SL engine and SE engines are virtually the same anyway. Small differences in the plumbing and manifolds but nothing all that much.  "
So your car can have a 280 SE/A engine and be 100% correct.
It turns over and is set up for a 4 speed manual transmission
It now includes the injection pump shown on it !

consider that the long block  may need to be refreshed
and we have priced it accordingly

Vettel wins for Red Bull in Japan

Vettel wins for Red Bull in Suzuka (Image: Getty) The start grid was not what we expected after Q3 on Saturday, after a raft of speeding under a yellow flag penalties were handed out to the drivers in Q3, resulting in Button starting 10th on the grid. And the race didn’t get a lot better for Button, ending up in eighth place with just one point, a place behind team mate Rubens Barrichello who finished in seventh. But the day belonged to Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel who was in control from start to finish, picking up ten points and keeping alive his championship hopes.

Lord Charles March takes the 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish up the Goodwood Hillcimb (video)

Sat, 06 Apr 2013

Lord Charles March – he of the Goodwood Festival of Speed – takes the 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish up the Goodwood hillclimb. The Hillclimb is a 1.16 mile road course, starting at the bottom corner of the Goodwood Estate where you take off on a tree-lined avenue before sweeping right and up past the main house before you enter a steep and narrow estate road, past unforgiving flint walls and woodland, before ending up by Goodwood’s racecourse at the top of the South Downs. It’s a thrilling run in almost any car (yes, we’ve been privileged to do it more than once) and now, with the ‘Moving Motor Show’ part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, many more are getting the chance to try the hillclimb in car makers’ latest offerings - admittedly not usually at full tilt.

1970 DeTomaso Mangusta: Bring a Trailer special

Wed, 19 Oct 2011

The name means “mongoose” in Italian, and even if this American half-breed never killed a Cobra on the track, in the looks department it’s still lethal. DeTomaso built 401 Mangusta sports cars from 1967 to 1971 before it was axed in favor of the ubiquitous Pantera--a styling step backward in the eyes of your humble author. The Mangusta formula was the same as that for Pantera: a Ford V8 engine (albeit a 302 rather than a 351C) midships in a sleek Italian body.
