Sure, it has its faults (what car doesn’t) but it’s very stylish, remarkably well put together (certainly for an Alfa), fun to drive and holds its value well (which is a real first for Alfa Romeo). But it’s not necesarily the sort of car that would register on the radar of the average Maserati owner.

The Mercedes CLA 45 AMG – Mercedes 4-door swoopy coupe version of the A45 AMG – has been officially revealed at the 2013 New York Auto Show. There was a time when smallish, powerful, four-door cars were a big deal, but as time has gone on that’s changed, with only the Japanese left to fly the flag. PRE-WAR CARS MAY GET MOT TEST EXEMPTION

PRE-WAR vehicles may have their requirement for an annual MoT test removed, it has been suggested. A meeting between Transport Minister Mike Penning and members of the All Party Parliamentary Historic Vehicles Group, led by Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, has resolved to address the issue. The extremely low accident rate for such vehicles, the vast majority of which are kept in pristine condition by avid collectors, means there is little need for a MoT test, the group argued.
