Up for sale is a pair of adjustable rear camber kit for the SLK class 1997-2012 R170, R171 and R172 Mercedes Benz models. Please see the part and model chart for comparability. These kits are fabricate locally here in the United States. The rod ends are stainless steel with Energy Suspension graphite filled polyurethane bushings and stainless steel inserts. The tie rod sleeves are iodized gold T6061 aluminum drawn tubing for strength, durability, and precise fitting.

These are great for correcting negative camber - when the top of the wheel is tipped in towards the body. Camber is the tilt of the wheel along its vertical axis. Running wider tires or car with lowering springs can cause this issue where your tires are wearing out on the inside. They are also great for older cars where the suspension tends to sag hence the wheel looks "spray out".

To some degree, this is a good thing as it allows more of the tire tread to stay in contact with the ground during hard cornering. But if you have too much negative camber, which degrades cornering performance as well as hinders grip during hard acceleration.

The camber kit can straighten the wheels by dialing out the negative camber, something you can't do with the stock suspension. They are also great for race days where changing from street tires to drag or race tires where the camber need to be adjusted on the spot. You can manual dial the wheel in by adjusting the rod in or out.

Please contact me if you don't see your model engine shown on the eBay chart as not all engines are shown on the eBay vehicle lookup especially for non American markets which I sell and shipped out to mostly. If you don't see your car here doesn't mean the camber kit will not fit your car, it means that eBay did not list your engine model and you just have to message me to let me know. Thanks.

Like wise, if you want more negative camber, this kit can put the wheel further in, allowing more negative camber for those of you who would like to have the "tuck-in" and slammed look:)

Also, I am currently carry the polyurethane lubrication - Energy Suspension Formula 5 Prelube item# 301205378325. These are great to pre-lube the rod ends, bolts, nuts and the aluminum piping before installation. A small drop is all you need to lube and waterproof the bolt, nuts and rod ends. Let me know if you want the prelube with the kit upon check out and I can ship them together.

****Please note that the prelube that I am selling is a separate listing and does not come with this camber kit.****

Former VW and Renault designer Markus Haub turns artist with 'Racing Legends' collection

Wed, 15 May 2013

Former Volkswagen and Renault designer Markus Haub has merged photography, painting and digital effects to create a 'Racing Legends' series, which focuses on racecars from the 1960s and ‘70s. Haub, a Pforzheim University graduate, who now teaches at the Barcelona campus of the Instituto Europeo di Design school (IED) when not producing his unique artwork, uses software to manipulate his photography which is then printed and made into a collage. He then works into it with paint and other artists' tools, creating what you can see here.
