In most cases, it will also be the subject of several design studies and concepts that never make it to the auto show stage. With the 2015 Ford Mustang just days away, we though it would be a good time to look back on some of those concepts that most of the world never got to see.

Hyundai delays Sonata Hybrid deliveries for change in sound device

Delivery to dealerships of most of Hyundai's initial Sonata Hybrids has been delayed until at least late March because the brand is altering the car’s device that emits an artificial engine noise at low speeds. Hyundai planned to have the car available in January but only a small number of the vehicles are in dealer stock, Hyundai spokesman Jim Trainor said. Trainor declined to say how many Sonata Hybrids have arrived in the United States but said about 700 units are in port or at sea.

Ford F-150 to deliver 20 percent fuel-economy gain with V6 engines

Ford Motor Co. today promised a 20 percent improvement in mileage in its 2011 F-150 pickups with a lineup of four new engines. A 3.7-liter V-6 will be standard; a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 with turbocharging and direct injection will be optional.
