I FOUND THIS MOTOR WITHOUT IT'S CONNECTORS. 

I SPLICED ON THE CONNECTORS YOU SEE HERE SO YOU WOULD NOT HAVE TO.

TO CONFIRM PROPER PLACEMENT ON THE MERCEDES SL SLC IMAGINE STANDING BEHIND YOURS.

YOUR LEFT SIDE IS ALSO THE CAR'S LEFT SIDE.

SO WITH THAT SAID THIS AWESOME LOOKING GENUINE BOSCH MOTOR FITS THE LEFT FRONT WINDOW LOCATION OF THE MERCEDES SL OR SLC BUILT FROM 1972 TO 1989.

THIS MOTOR IS ALSO IDENTIFIED IN THE MERCEDES PARTS CATALOG AS PART NUMBER 0018207742.

AND MOUNTS TO THE BROSE REGULATOR PART NUMBER 1077200746.

THIS MOTOR CAN ALSO REPLACE THE EARLY BLACK PLASTIC CASED BOSCH MOTOR PART NUMBER 0130820002.

I HAVE PROVIDED THE FIRST AND THIRD THROUGH NINTH PICTURES OF THIS MOTOR WHICH I DISMANTLED TO GIVE YOU A FAR BETTER LOOK AT IT'S TRUE CONDITION.

THESE PICTURES ARE AN ADDED LEVEL OF PROOF TO THE DESCRIPTION'S ACCURACY AND THAT THIS MOTOR IS NOT FROM A FLOOD CAR.

EXPERIENCING A COUPLE OF BAD CHOICES IN THE PAST WITH USED ELECTRICAL PARTS, I DECIDED THE BEST WAY TO CHOSE A USED PART WAS TO DISMANTLE IT.

I CONTINUE TO TAKE THE EXTRA TIME NEEDED ALLOWING YOU TO SEE RIGHT INTO THE HEART OF THIS GENUINE USED BOSCH WINDOW MOTOR.

THE OVERALL CONDITION OF THIS MOTOR IS REMARKABLE.

THE COPPER WINDING AND ARMATURE BRUSH CONTACT SURFACE SHINE BRILLIANTLY. 

IN MY OPINION THIS MOTOR APPEARS TO BE AS NEAR TO NEW AS YOU MIGHT FIND IN A USED MOTOR..

PLEASE FOCUS YOUR ATTENTION TO THE PRISTINE CONDITION OF THE MOTOR'S INTERIOR. 

IT IS OBVIOUS THE MOTOR APPEARS TO TO HAVE HAD VERY LITTLE USE!

BECAUSE OF THIS, IN MY OPINION THE MOTOR STILL APPEARS TO HAVE ALL OF IT'S BRUSH MATERIAL INTACT. 

I FOUND NO BRUSH DUST ON THE MAGNETS.

IN ADDITION IT IS MY BELIEF, JUDGING FROM THE LACK OF DUST COLLECTED ON THE OUTER SURFACE AND A STILL FRESH LOOKING GREASE ON THE EXTERIOR GEAR, THAT THIS MOTOR WAS A VERY RECENT NEW MOTOR REPLACEMENT.

WHAT I CALL BRUSH MATERIAL ARE THE TWO SPRING LOADED RECTANGULAR BLOCKS SEEN WITHIN THE CIRCULAR OF THE ELECTRICAL ASSEMBLY IN THE THIRD AND FOURTH PICTURES.

THIS BRUSH MATERIAL MAINTAINS CONSTANT CONTACT WITH THE ARMATURE AND WEAR OVER TIME AS THE ARMATURE SPINS.

I PUSH EACH BLOCK BACK INTO IT'S GUIDE CHANNEL AND THEN LET GO TO SEE IF THE BRUSHES RETURN TO FULL EXTENSION WITHOUT ANY RESTRICTIONS.

A BRUSH THAT HAS RESTRICTED MOVEMENT WITHIN IT'S GUIDE CHANNEL WILL ULTIMATELY HANG UP STOPPING THE MOTOR DOWN THE ROAD.

I FOUND NO ISSUES WITH THE BRUSH MOVEMENT.

THE FIFTH PICTURE SHOWS THE ARMATURE IN POSITION HOLDING THE BRUSHES BACK.

THE SIXTH AND SEVENTH PICTURES VIEW THE ARMATURE ITSELF.

THE EIGHTH PICTURE PEERS INTO A VERY CLEAN LOOKING GEAR BOX WHERE YOU CAN GET A GLIMPSE OF THE INNER SPROCKET AND THE RUST FREE UPPER BEARING.

I ROTATED THE EXTERIOR GEAR WITH VERY LITTLE EFFORT.

WHICH ALSO ALLOWED ME TO VIEW ALL THE SPLINES ON THE INNER SPROCKET.

I FOUND NO EVIDENCE OF WEAR OR DAMAGE ON ANY OF THE SPLINES.

THE NINTH PICTURE SHOWS A PRISTINE LOOKING MAGNET CASE AND RUST FREE LOWER BEARING.

WHEN TESTED THIS MOTOR WORKED AS EXPECTED.

IT STARTED INSTANTLY RUNNING FAST, SMOOTH ,AND WITHOUT HESITATION.

YOU COULD HEAR A NICE LOW HUMMING SOUND.

AGAIN WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM AN AS NEAR NEW MOTOR.

I SEE NO EVIDENCE OF DAMAGE OR WEAR ON ANY OF THE MOTOR'S EXTERIOR GEAR TEETH.

OWN A 1972 TO 1989 MERCEDES SL OR SLC?

IF YOU HAVE A LEFT FRONT WINDOW THAT REFUSES TO WORK PERHAPS YOUR WINDOW MOTOR IS THE CAUSE.

ON THE OTHER HAND, IF YOU ARE NOT QUITE SURE YOUR WINDOW MOTOR IS THE CAUSE, I HAVE PACKED INTO THIS RATER LENGTHY LISTING STEPS YOU CAN DO IF YOU ARE A DO IT YOURSELF INDIVIDUAL. 

STEPS THAT WILL HELP YOU DETERMINE IF A WINDOW MOTOR IS WHAT YOU ACTUALLY NEED.

I HAVE OUTLINED A TEST, BASED ON MY OWN EXPERIENCES WITH WINDOW MOTOR ISSUES, THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO TEST THE MOTOR DIRECTLY.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE MOTOR FROM THE CAR FOR THIS TEST.

YOU WILL NEED TO REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL.

AND YOU WILL NEED A SEPARATE 12 VOLT POWER SUPPLY LIKE A BATTERY CHARGER.

I AM NOT A MECHANIC.

HOWEVER I DO TAKE PRIDE IN MAKING ALL THE REPAIRS I CAN TO MY MERCEDES.

SO IF YOU ARE A DO IT YOURSELF INDIVIDUAL LIKE ME, LET'S SEE IF YOU ACTUALLY DO NEED TO REPLACE YOUR MOTOR WITH THE TEST I MENTIONED ABOVE.

REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL AND LOOK TO THE REGULATOR FOR THE JUNCTION BLOCK.

THE JUNCTION BLOCK IS SIMILAR TO THE ONE YOU NOW SEE ATTACHED TO THE MOTOR'S WIRES.

I AM INCLUDING THIS GENUINE USED MERCEDES JUNCTION BLOCK AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE JUST IN CASE YOU FIND, AS I OFTEN DO, YOUR BLOCK IS BROKEN.

OR IT BREAKS AS YOU ATTEMPT TO REMOVE SCREWS SEIZED IN PLACE WITH RUST.

REMOVE THE SCREWS AND PULL THE MOTOR'S GREEN AND BLACK WIRE FREE.

CONNECT THE BATTERY CHARGER'S POSITIVE CABLE TO THE MOTOR'S GREEN WIRE.

CONNECT THE CHARGER'S NEGATIVE CABLE TO THE MOTOR'S BLACK WIRE.

THIS FIRST CONNECTION MAY NOT GIVE A RESULT BECAUSE IT MAY BE COMMAND TO RAISE AN ALREADY RAISED WINDOW.

DID THE WINDOW MOVE NORMALLY WITH THIS FIRST CONNECTION? YES? GREAT!

NOW REVERSE THE WIRES.

REVERSE THE WIRES ANYWAY IF THE WINDOW DID NOT MOVE WITH THIS FIRST CONNECTION.

THIS MEANS TO CONNECT THE CHARGER'S POSITIVE CABLE TO THE MOTOR'S BLACK WIRE.

CONNECT THE CHARGER'S NEGATIVE CABLE TO THE MOTOR'S GREEN WIRE.

DID THE WINDOW MOVE THIS TIME OR RETURN TO IT'S ORIGINAL POSITION NORMALLY? YES? GREAT!

YOU DO NOT NEED TO REPLACE YOUR MOTOR.

IF THE WINDOW DID NOT MOVE AT ALL NO MATTER HOW YOU CONNECTED THE WIRES THEN IT IS LIKELY YOU DO NEED TO REPLACE YOUR MOTOR.
