Mercruiser Mercarb 2 barrel carburetor.  Tag says MCM 165 1389-9564.  Cross reference says this carb was used on the 1990-2006 3.0L and 1985-2003 3.7L motors.  This one came from a 165 3.7L motor.

I bought this thinking I could use the choke, but it's not the right one for me.  I don't know the running history of this one, but will guarantee it's serviceable.  I don't see any damage.

Diesel cars best option says former US Transport Secretary Former American Transport Secretary Norman Mineta is urging the US Government to promote high efficiency diesels instead of electric and hybrid cars. Just like the UK government, the US government seems obsessed with promoting electric and hybrid cars as the way of the future, something anyone who really knows cars will tell you is a nonsensical approach. Hybrid and electric cars are too costly to produce and have little appeal for the car buying public.

Barrett-Jackson's Palm Beach auction concluded on Sunday with more than $18 million in sales at the South Florida Fairgrounds. A 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 crossed the block for $1,000,000. THE AUTUMN dip in petrol prices failed to stimulate sales and the cost of filling up is rising again, according to the AA. Drivers in small market and coastal towns are particularly suffering from high prices, with the dearest petrol found in East Anglia and Wales, the AA said. It added that between mid November and mid December, the average UK price of petrol rose from 130.44p a litre to 131.17p, while diesel increased from 137.78p to 138.61p.
