This engine was removed from a early 90's boat last year and I didn't have a chance to test run it until recently. The oil looks good and there are no signs of previous water in the oil. The engine started easily and was ran for 10 minutes with no issues. Charging system, oil pressure and temperature all looked good during the test run. I have short video of the engine running which I will attempt to load to drop box and insert the link here or I can send it through other means to anyone who is interested. The exhaust manifolds showed signs of possible leaking however I did not see any leaking while I was testing. I always give as much honest information as I know and by the signs I cannot say they do not leak. The block and all other components look good. There are no signs that this has ever seen salt water. This auction is for the engine from the flywheel housing forward and will be disconnected where the riser meets the y pipe. Risers are included. Throttles, trim pump and cylinders are not included. If you want the gimbal housing left attached to the flywheel plate just let me know and I'll leave it as is. If anyone would like to stop by to see the engine running prior to Friday please contact me and we can make arrangements. After Friday I need to prepare it for loading. Item is for local pick up only and I have means to get it into a truck or on a trailer. I may be able to assist in delivery but that would have to be discussed prior to auction ending. Item is located in Jeannette Pa, 15644

Tesla ‘drops’ entry-level Model S. But was it ever going to be available?

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

The 40kWh version of the Tesla Model S is being dropped by Tesla in the US, but we do wonder if Tesla ever had any intention of delivering it in the first place. Tesla’s big claim ahead of the arrival of the, very impressive, Model S – and a seemingly vital part of the US taxpayer funding Tesla to develop the Model S – was that they would deliver a car that cost under $50k, something the car industry thought impossible. But when the Model S was launched, Tesla did indeed have an entry-level model available with a 4okWh battery that was listed at $58,750 (taking it almost down to the $50k mark after the US taxpayer chipped in the EV bribe) so Elon Musk could, quite reasonably, claim Tesla had delivered.

Stratstone start selling Classic Jaguars

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

In what’s thought to be an industry first  Jaguar main dealer Stratstone is selling classic Jaguars supplied by specialists Classic Motor Cars of Bridgnorth. The world of classic cars is one that isn’t normally immediately accessible to buyers of new cars; the classic car world is thought of by many as a world of men with pipes and leather patches on their elbows inhabiting their own secret world of a bygone day. But with classic cars proving to be one of the soundest investments you can make – as long as you choose well – it’s a world buyers of new premium cars could to well to look at, especially with the tax breaks classic car investment brings, never mind the joy of owning a mobile work of art.

2014 Range Rover adds supercharged V6

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

In addition to a complete inside-and-out redesign, the big story for the new-for-2013 Range Rover was the weight savings -- about 700 pounds worth thanks to an all-aluminum unibody structure. On Wednesday, we caught wind of the 2014 model. Word on the street is Jaguar-Land Rover's 3.0-liter supercharged V6 will replace the normally aspirated V8 for next year.
