àType 1 Gimbal Plateß

This sale is for 1 Type gimbal plate!

Type 1 plates all have a round needle bearing for the steering shaft arm area not a bushing. Type 1’s run from 1965 to the about the end of 1975.

Plates are all in good useable or excellent condition and the price reflects just that!

This is for what I call a second, not perfect either a bad paint job or minor pitting for $250. I also have firsts/mint condition for $325 in another listing

Type 1 plates are different then anything newer then 1975 because the trim sensors on a type 1 are on the top of the gimbal ring and the newer models the trim sensors are on each side of the ring and the plates have bump outs on the sides for the trim sensors. If you notice these plates are flat where they go over the hinge pins to attach the bell to the ring. These plates are for the bell/ring combo that uses nails to hold slider pins in place to attach the bell to the ring.

This plate will include

1)   The water inlet tube with grommet 2 bolts and Grommet cover plate! So damages don’t occur in shipping the tube will not be installed.

2)   The 2 studs for the back of the plate that mount above the bearing area. These may or may not be installed.

3)   The 2 studs, nuts & washers for the bottom of the plate to mount the hydraulic divider block.

4)   A used grease seal is included (good and useable)

I do not include bellows, transom seals and such items as some customers already have bought them but I have them for you at a discounted price.

Once you buy reconditioned parts from me the discounts are as follows, And it is usually recommended to replace the following items as well.

Bellows sets with gimbal bearing, 2 universals and outdrive gasket are $100

Outer transom seal $10

Steering shaft seal    $20

Exhaust seal      $10

New trim sensors Port and Starboard $75 per set

New shift cable $50

The gimbal bearings are removed and all bellows surfaces are good. I deburr the plates in a deburring machine with soap, water & 1/4'” soft ceramic media to remove algae and loose paint. Every bolt & grease fitting hole I put bolts in to stop the media from getting into the hole so I know all threads are good.

Also check the pictures for your exhaust pattern, it can be 3 or a 5 bolt pattern. I have several of each type so when you buy let me know. You can save the pictures to your computer and zoom in to read the writing. Some of the type 1 styles have the hydraulic lines come out the sides and some out the bottom of the plate. Also some of the type 1’s use just hydraulic rams and some use a combination of hydraulic rams and 6” shocks. There is also 3 hydraulic rams setups for these so the best bet is to call so I can be sure you get the right plate the first time!

95% of my stock come from upstate NY, Ohio, Kansas & Illinois so fresh water but the truth is I have seen more damage from hard fresh water then from salt water.

This is not actual pictures and I do not send actual pictures!

I sell so many parts that trying to keep a posted picture is impossible and if you asked for a picture and paid for it an hour later the part might have already been packed for some one else. So please don’t ask for pictures.

Shipping is free in the continental US all other must ask for shipping quote! The weight packed for 1 plate is about 15 Pounds and I ship USPS Priority mail only. My zip code is 37096.

Callaway introduces Camaro Z/28 SC652

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

The paint on the logo of the Chevy Camaro Z/28 isn’t even dry yet, and American tuner Callaway is already licking its chops in anticipation. The company says it can take that already-badass Z/28 and boost it to 652 hp, hence the name. To get the extra power, Callaway adds an Eaton TVS2300 supercharger to the LS7, a liquid-to-air intercooler, bigger fuel injectors, carbon injector covers, high-flow intake, low restriction exhaust, embroidered floor mats, door sill panels, badging, plaques, a Callaway key fob and a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty.

New car registrations at five-year high September 2013

Sat, 05 Oct 2013

New car registrations at five-year high September 2013 Despite the UK economy being in the doldrums for much of the past five years, new car registrations have recovered well ahead of the curve and still seem to be unstoppable. September saw new car registrations hit 403,136 – the highest figure for five and a half years – and the first time since 2008 new car registrations have broken the 400k barrier. We’ve covered the reasons before – pre-reg cars, dealer discounts and even PPI payouts – but car registrations are certainly continuing to give buoyancy to a recovery that’s still fragile.

One Lap of the Web: supercars and not-so-super cars

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

-- This has been a busy week for 'Ring records, and it's only Wednesday. The latest unconfirmed report is that the McLaren P1 may have set a time of 6:47 around the course. That would make it the fastest car to ever lap the course, being a full second faster than the Radical SR8 LM.
