Fri, 11 Jul 2014KEEN to boost availability of its new, greener diesel engine, Vauxhall has fitted it’s ‘whisper’ 1.6-litre motor to its rakish three-door Astra GTC. The coupe bodied Astra joins the five-door and estate Sports Tourer models, and it boasts numbers that should appeal to tax-savvy company car drivers as well as private buyers seeking to save some cash. The engine replaces the 1.7 CDTi, providing 136 horsepower - a slight increase on the outgoing unit- delivered through an improved six-speed manual transmission.
Infiniti's design future: where next for Nissan's BMW
Tue, 03 Aug 2010Infiniti’s design language, Dynamic Adeyaka, will be turned up on the next generation of the company’s cars, the brand's design chiefs have told CAR. And there are more concepts cars coming to showcase the styling direction, as Infiniti continues to persaude buyers from their BMWs. We won’t see anything at the 2010 Paris motor show (more details of the alliance with Daimler are expected to be the news there) but the 2010 LA, or 2011 Detroit or Geneva shows will host a new Infiniti concept car to follow on from the gorgeous Essence (pictured above with design director Shiro Nakamura). We told you the other day about Infiniti's new electric car coming in 2012.
Porsche details plan for new headquarters, test track next to Atlanta airport
Thu, 12 May 2011Porsche Cars North America will spend between $80 million and $100 million to build a new headquarters and test-track complex next to Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson airport, the automaker said on Thursday. The site in Hapevlle, Ga., is where the Ford Motor Co. assembly plant that built the Ford Taurus and the Mercury Sable used to stand.
