Aston Martin Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S race car revealed

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

The new Aston Martin Rapide S was revealed in January, and now Aston Martin are taking the Rapide S racing, but with a twist – it’s going to be able to run on hydrogen. Aston Martin has been working with hydrogen experts Alset Global and have developed a twin turbo version of their 6.0 litre V12 that can run on petrol, gaseous hydrogen or a blend of both and the plan is to run the Rapide S at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring next month with at least one lap run on hydrogen alone. The hydrogen system in the Rapide S (which AM are calling a hybrid, but it’s only a hybrid in the sense it uses two fuels, not that it uses electric motors) has a hydrogen fuel rail, storage tanks and its won engine management system to control combustion.

Mercedes C 180 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY Review & Road Test (2010)

The Mercedes C180 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY in for a week for Review & Road Test There was a time when you knew what lurked beneath the bonnet of a Mercedes; the badge on the boot shouted it loud and clear. If it was an S500 you knew it had a 5.0 litre engine and if it said C180 you could safely assume you’d get a modest 1.8 litre lump to row Mercedes’ smallest saloon along. But things have got a bit more complicated over the years; probably because the cubic capacity of the engine is not necessarily an indication of its power.

Sat, 06 Aug 2011

Pagani Huayra - not bound for the USA any time soon When Horacio Pagani presented the Pagani Huayra to the world, the world let out a collective Gallic shrug. What was this generic supercar from the builder of the Zonda? Surely Pagani can’t seriously be offering the Huayra as a replacement for the Zonda?
