Datsun Go boldly goes downmarket

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

The Datsun Go (pictured) has been revealed in India We’ve know since March that Nissan was adding an extra brand name to its portfolio – to add to Nissan and Infiniti – by reaching back in its history to bring the Datsun brand back to life, and we got the first image of what we now know is the Datsun Go at the start of July. (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});Having spent a fortune eradicating Datsun from the minds of buyers and replacing it with Nissan, Nissan are now working to make car buyers in emerging markets fall for the new Datsun Go in the way the UK  did for the first Datsun Sunny in the 1970s. So we get the Datsun Go which is, to all intents and purposes, a Nissan Micra with all the fripperies removed and pitched – initially at least – at the budget end of the car market in India where it will go up against cars like the Hyundai i10 and cost under £5,000 which, entirely coincidentally, is the starting price for the i10.

£2,500 price cut for Subaru BRZ

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

Subaru has cut the retail price of its sporty BRZ coupe by nearly 10% to £23,995 on-the-road for the SE Lux model. The reduction from the previous £26,495 list price (effective from 1 May 2014) marks a £2,500 saving for customers. The price drop is in part related to the introduction of the firm’s performance flagship model, the WRX STI, which hits UK shores in May 2014.

Four-door BMW 4-series Gran Coupe revealed in renderings?

Fri, 27 Dec 2013

Another day, another upcoming car revealed thanks to a leaked patent filing -- and another BMW model variant to memorize: f30post.com has renderings of what looks to be the four-door BMW 4-series Gran Coupe, originally posted at the Chinese-language site autohome.com.cn. No, your eyes do not deceive you, nor are you going crazy. This is, or at least appears to be, a four-door version of the car that BMW created as the dedicated two-door replacement for the now-discontinued 3-series coupe.
