This 6.2 Litre V8 manufactured by General Motors was rebuilt by US Government contractor and apparently never used.  It is in a very nice steel engine shipping container and has all documentation of testing after rebuild.  The engine turns as you would expect. Although it was used in HUMWV it is reportedly a standard GM 6.2 Litre V8 block and can be installed in many domestic vehicles.  Apparently the intake and exhaust manifolds are different from non-military but can be changed by simply bolting on the correct original manifolds.  I am not an expert on these engines but will answer any question I can. I have not tested this engine but I have no reason to believe it does not run.  It is sold as is.

The steel container is very nice for storing and shipping engines and could be re-sold or reused.

I can arrange low cost shipping and take to a shipping terminal to save you money on shipping.  If you want me to get a shipping quote send me your location and whether you are a business capable of accepting a shipment from a semi truck and have either a loading dock or forklift.  If you are a residential location and require a lift gate delivery from a smaller truck the cost will be higher.  You can also save a lot of money by picking up the engine at a shipping terminal near you.  Please give me the details on your shipping request if you want to get an accurate quote.  I ship a lot of items so I can get you a good deal but if you want to arrange shipping I can take it to any local terminal.  If you want to pick it up here in Columbus Ohio I can help load it onto a small flat bed trailer or in a normal size pickup truck.

The total weight of the engine is 650lbs.  The steel container weighs 540lbs.  The total weight is 1,190lbs.

Design boss plans Hyundai's next big splash

Mon, 11 Jun 2012

Every two weeks, Christopher Chapman makes the rounds at Hyundai's Irvine, Calif., design center to see what his team has in the "corner stack." The "stack" is a pile of index card-sized sketches on the corner of every designer's desk. For Chapman, Hyundai's U.S. design boss, it's a way to encourage his designers to keep ideas flowing.

Bentley Continental GT3 road car debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed?

Tue, 10 Jun 2014

The Bentley Continental GT3 (pictured) looks set to turn in to a road car The idea that the Bentley Continental GT3 – Bentley’s track special – will, at some point, turn in to a road car has been around for a couple of years. But it seemed unlikely. It seemed unlikely because a stripped-out Continental with a GT3 badge, pushing on 700bhp and stripped of many of its luxuries would step on the toes of what we expected – a new Continental Supersports.

Mercedes SLS AMG E-Cell (2010): the electric SLS

Mon, 05 Jul 2010

Following the unveiling of Tesla's updated Roadster 2.5, Mercedes is showing off its iteration of an all-electric sports car: the SLS AMG E-Cell. While the regular SLS pumps out 563bhp and 479lb ft from its 6.2-litre V8, the SLS E-Cell has four synchronous electric motors, powering all four wheels for a combined output of 392kW (equivalent to 526bhp) and a mammoth 649lb ft of torque. Crucially, all of that power is accessible from zero revs, allowing the E-Cell to sprint to 62mph in four seconds dead.
