Military Vehicle Boarding Ladder – works great for both trucks and trailers!

The ladder is all steel, 4 step, with expanded mesh on steps.    It has hooks welded on the top that can be narrowed or flattened depending on use, and as it is steel, you can easily add hooks to fit different applications.

It is brand new, but may have some storage marks, paint chips, etc on it.

  • Size is 21-3/8” Wide x 3-3/4” Deep x 54-3/8” Tall.

It probably works best on a rise of 36”, but it very usable as is for a rise up to 42” tall.

NOTE:  In the pictures below, this ladder is sitting up against a M35 double bumper sitting on 395x85x20 Michelins so it is a bit higher than your normal M35 series truck.  J

Not real sure of the original use, but have been told it may have fit some type of ambulance.

I have personally used this type of ladder on several different trucks and they work great – including the ¾ ton series (M37 types), and 5/4 ton series (M715, Dodges, M1008s and M1009s), and even work well on the bumperettes on 2.5 ton trucks (M35 series).

As far as trailers, both modified and unmodified they work pretty well.   They are great for kitchen trailers (with the hooks bent flat), semi vans – the ones with the lower level pintle support plate are perfect, and the smaller MV trailers – ¾ ton M101 series, and 1.5 ton M105 series.

NOTE:  This is a surplus US military item, and as such, it will only be sold to US Citizens and shipped to US Addresses.  No Exceptions.

The ladder is heavy – coming in around 45 lbs, but can ship UPS fine, but it would go out at an oversize rate.  Local pickup is fine on this, but for those who want it shipped,  I will cut some wood pieces to place under the hooks, and then wrap in plastic wrap  to help protect it in transit.

I have entered the data into the Ebay shipping calculator, and it seems to be coming up pretty accurate, but I can always double check for you at the end of the auction so you get the exact shipping cost.   Rough estimates from the UPS Website are:  St Louis - $35;  Tampa, Dallas, or Boston - $40;  Denver - $50; and Los Angeles $65

Ram 1500 diesel changes the pickup truck game

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

It's ironic perhaps that I spent yesterday evening driving a Ford F-150 equipped with the excellent EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine. It's got loads of low-end torque and, on paper, its fuel economy is better than that of a comparable gas V8. It even sounds a bit like a diesel…but it isn't.

Aston Martin CC100 Speedster concept

Mon, 20 May 2013

The Aston Martin CC100 Speedster concept has been built to celebrate the centenary of the British brand at the Nürburgring 24 Hour race. Apparently inspired by the beautiful 1959 DBR1 racecar, the CC100 apparently also gives some clues as to Aston's upcoming design language, particularly around the grille, with its prominent insert and the treatment of the side strake, which here becomes a more integral part of the wheel arch and fender. The car was designed in Aston Martin's studio in Gaydon, with its bodywork the responsibility of chief exterior designer Miles Nurnburger.

Saab Phoenix concept (2011) at 2011 Geneva motor show

Tue, 01 Mar 2011

Saab issued one of the few genuine surprises of the Geneva show: the Phoenix concept car, designed to show the newly independent brand's stylistic future. Named after the Phoenix platform underpinning many of the company's future products including next year's new 9-3, the concept car is a dramatic coupe. It's the first car designed by Jason Castriota, the new design chief.
