MINI did a great thing when they added the USB input under the toggles in the
2008 and newer MINIs. First, it allows a way to play music from your iPod
through the stereo. Second, it allows for charging, AND it can even pull the
meta data from the iPod so you can view it on the radio interface. Having this
cable will allow to use your iPod while charging it.
Please note, meta data on the radio display has been spotty at best as some iPods will send that info while others do not. Some software updates help, but we cannot know which ones work 100% and which do not. At the VERY least, you will be able to listen to the content on your iPod through your radio...it's the artist name, track name, etc that is not always 100% guaranteed to pull through. Please note: This cable is for the pre-iPhone 5 Apple products. However we also offer the new apple lightning connection cable as well. We have also seen that some versions of the iPhone and iPad will NOT charge if they require 10 volts to charge, as this only allows 5 volt to pass. Italdesign Giugiaro debuts electric Clipper MPV
Thu, 06 Mar 2014The Volkswagen T-ROC wasn't the only Geneva Motor Show concept unveiled this week that uses the Golf platform, Italdesign Giugiaro unveiled an MPV concept that managed to turn quite a few heads. Italdesign is owned by Volkswagen, so this design and engineering exercise seemed like a no-brainer, allowing the company to show off an extra concept car in an entirely different wrapper. The Clipper an all-wheel drive six-seat MPV sitting on the MQB platform, which Volkswagen is keen to expand beyond the Golf and the next-generation Scirocco, and it features two electric motors producing 149-hp each, one for each axle.

Sun, 09 Jun 2013The Mercedes SLS AMG ED (pictured) set a new EV lap record at the Nurburgring Just as Audi decides that the R8 e-Tron isn’t a production viable option, Mercedes decides to prove there is potential for electric cars at the very high end. The Mercedes SLS AMG Electric Drive has been to the Nurburgring and set a new lap record for a production electric car of just 7 minutes 55 seconds. The SLS AMG ED, which goes on sale very soon at more than £300k, may weigh a chunk more than a regular SLS (550kg more), but it gets plenty of help from its four electric motors – one at each corner – to overcome the weight of its batteries with 751bhp and 737lb/ft of torque on hand.
