MAHLE Motorsports has positioned itself as a leading supplier of forged racing pistons and rings. Widely recognized as the technology leader amongst race teams in most every top race series in North America and abroad, winning races and championships around the world, MAHLE Motorsports North America brings cutting edge technology to sportsman and professional racers alike with the flexibility and foresight to meet a wide range of customer needs which has the discerning racer relying on MAHLE to get them to the winner’s circle. The MAHLE Motorsports PowerPak kit is our high volume shelf stock program developed for high performance enthusiasts and sportsman class racers. The PowerPak pistons are predominantly made from 4032 aluminum alloy to allow for tighter cylinder to wall clearances and improved temperature stability. Some applications require 2618 alloy including the PowerPak Plus category.

PowerPak Plus / ProSeries feature includes:
- Race proven quality pistons forged from 2618 aluminum alloy (the 2 barrel pistons are made form 4032)
- Ring grooves machined for light-weight, low-drag racing ring packs
- Asymmetrical valve pockets
- Lateral gas ports for improved sealing, generating improved horsepower
- Precision milling for additional weight savings
- GRAFAL® anti-friction coating on skirts*
- Phosphate-coated to reduce micro-welding and pin galling**
* MAHLE’s GRAFAL® skirt coating reduces drag, scuffing, friction and cylinder bore wear; reduces piston noise.
** Phosphate coating provides the grey appearance to the MAHLE piston. This dry lubricant coating (not to be confused with a thermal film coating) provides a lubricant film in the pin bores and ring grooves until the oiling system of the engine reaches operating pressure; particularly useful during the initial start-up or break-in of engines to protect against galling and microwelding. The piston crown is still machineable.
