CNC lathe-turned 6061 T-6 aluminum light housing; extra thick injection-molded polycarbonate plastic lens with 5-40 Phillips head mounting screws; die-cut rubber internal LED spacer gasket; custom 15-element LED board with two phases (brake light and running light) and three wires (ground, brake and running lights); two 1/4-20 button head Allen bolts for mounting on Biltwell custom fender bracket (sold separately) or existing Model-A style taillight/license plate brackets. Fitment: No School Choppers and others offer a great selection of side- and center-mount Model-A style license plate brackets for custom motorcycles. To give guys who run any of these Model-A style brackets another choice, we developed our Model B. The Biltwell Model B features the same two-phase LED and ripple finish PC lens as our Mako taillight, and will retrofit onto your bikes Model-A style taillight bracket in minutes. If your bike doesn't have a Model-A style taillight bracket, we offer a metal bracket that can be custom bent to fit your rear fender, or attached to your bike by any hand-fabbed method you desire. Details: The outside diameter of the Model B's alloy housing is just over 2-5/8 inches (67mm), and the red lens is an inch (35mm) smaller: just 1-5/8 inches. When illuminated the LED is easily visible at 100 meters, but due to its small size it may not pass safety inspection in your state or country of registration. This is a custom component for handcrafted motorcycles, so the DOT-worthiness of such vehicles is always dubious. If you're looking for laser brightness from outer space, please consider another taillight. Our Model B is for guys who want to build the cleanest, leanest custom motorcycle possible. Shipping is free to the lower 48 United States. Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico are not part of the lower 48 states and will need to be invoiced for shipping. Most items ship the same day payment is received if payment is received before 2pm EST otherwise the item will ship the following business day. Due to UPS shipping items will not be shipped during holidays observed by UPS. If an item is out of stock or oversold the customer will be notified of the date that the item will be back in stock. International customers and customers located in Hawaii or Alaska will be invoiced for additional shipping charges. Some items will be sent via USPS and others via UPS. Mercedes planning more Coupe SUVs to add to the BMW X6 challenging MLC
Wed, 30 Apr 2014The Mercedes Concept Coupe SUV (pictured) looks to be just the first in a range of Coupe SUVs No one can be in any doubt that the Mercedes Concept Coupe SUV we saw revealed at the Beijing Motor Show earlier this month will turn in to a ‘coupe’ version of the ML, probably as the Mercedes MLC. What’s also clear is that the MLC is designed to steal a chunk of the market BMW has created for big, lifestyle, coupe SUVs with the X6; take away the Mercedes badge and the Concept Coupe SUV could preview the next generation X6. But with BMW taking their X6 formula and applying it to the X3 – creating the X6 on a boil-wash X4 – Mercedes aren’t going to sit back and let BMW create another lifestyle coupe SUV without responding.

To be honest, we were surprised they didn’t go with the Speedster name (we reported back in Spetember with pictures of a Porsche Boxster with Speedster humps testing at the Nurburgring), but perhaps that was a step too far; using the Speedster tag on a lowly Boxster. But no matter, the Porsche Boxster Spyder it is with the flat six 3.4 litre engine with 310bhp and a 0-60mph of 4.6 seconds when you tick the PDK Sport Chrono Plus option.

Cars like the Ferrari 458 Italia China Special Edition, Audi R8 China Edition, Porsche 911 Turbo S China 10th Anniversary Edition and Aston Martin’s ‘Dragon 88′ special editions of the DBS Volante, Virage Coupe and V8 Vantage S Coupe are just a few of the China Specials Western car makers have bolted together to tempt the Chinese to part with their cash. Now we have another with the BMW 7-Series Horse Edition, which might sound like a special edition Land Rover Discovery but which is in fact a titivated 7-Series to celebrate the Year of the Horse.
