Tue, 11 Sep 2007By Tim Pollard Motor Shows 11 September 2007 11:24 Land Rover Landie: the lowdown Land Rover flashed up this tantalising glimpse of the Landie at the Frankfurt Motor Show today, confirming the long-rumoured lower-priced SUV to slot beneath the Freelander. Cynics might accuse the company of distracting show-goers from the fact that there was nothing especially new on its stand. It seems that Land Rover – currently up for sale alongside sister firm Jag with a sale expected this autumn - is repeating its strategy with the Range Stormer concept.
College Exhibition: IED Degree Show 2008
Tue, 29 Jul 2008Graduating students at the Istituto Europeo di Design of Turin (IED) recently completed a project created in association with BMW. The projects, presented at an exhibition entitled ‘Designing the BMW of 2015', followed a brief to design a car by interpreting the language evolution and the trademark essence in view of the company's future perspectives. Students were asked to research the needs, tastes and lifestyle of 35 year old individual in 2025 and find inspiration in natural elements (sun, sea, wind and earth) and in forms of expression (music, painting and art).
Toyota Auris Touring Sports: Paris 2012
Thu, 27 Sep 2012Toyota has revealed the first estate version of the Auris – the 2013 Toyota Auris Touring Sports – at the Paris Motor Show. It’s a sensible move by Toyota to add an estate version to a car that competes in a segment where 25 per cent of all cars sold are estates, and the Auris Estate looks a decent offering. The Auris Touring Sports sits on the same 2600mm wheelbase as the Auris hatch, but it gets and extra 285mm longer thanks to the new shed on the back, a shed that offers what looks like a decent carrying capacity )although Toyota aren’t actually telling us how much ‘stuff’ the Auris estate can carry).
