In an attempt to keep costs down and racing close, many dirt track racing sanctioning bodies across the country institute a mandatory rpm limit in several classes. MSD has been in close contact with many tracks over the years and thanks to their input, as well as that of the racers, we are excited to introduce an rpm limiter designed for the Saturday night racer! The new MSD Digital Soft-Touch HEI Rev Limiter is designed to plug into nearly any HEI distributor and produces an accurate, smooth rev limiting action. The rpm limit is adjustable from 3,000 – 9,900 rpm via two rotary dials with an easy to- view LED to display the value. A unique feature of the this Limiter is its ability to record the highest rpm reached during a race. This is useful information for the race team, as well as tech officials. Also, if the Limiter loses any connection or is manipulated during a race a fault code will be displayed. The Limiter is encased in epoxy for protection against the abuse of dirt track racing. For use with GM style HEI distributors on V8 engines only.

Factory Reconditioned products consist of products that were originally sold new, or sent out as demo units, these products were then returned, sometimes without even being opened. Once we receive a product back, it is tested and then reconditioned to original factory specifications by Manufacturer-trained technicians. The testing process assures that the product meets the same stringent quality standards that are required for new products.

Since these products may show signs of a previous installation, minor wear or other cosmetic defect our policy is not to sell them as new.  Rather than scrapping them, we are making them directly available to the public.  Not only does this help us control the costs of our new products, it allows you to get a great deal on a like-new product!

Warranty & Return Policy

  • MSD Factory Refurbished products are warranted for a period of 90 days from date of sale for defects in material and workmanship. Any defective items will be repaired or replaced at MSD’s discretion. 
  • In the unlikely event you have a problem with your Factory Reconditioned product, please call MSD's tech line at (915) 855-7123, Should a tech service associate determine that it is necessary to return the item for repair or replacement, you will be given instructions and a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA). 
  • Buyer is responsible for return shipping; however, MSD will cover shipping the repaired or replaced item back to the buyer. 
  • Expedited freight may be available upon request and at buyer’s expense.
  • This Factory Reconditioned Warranty supersedes any new product warranty that may be included in your kit.

GM posts quarterly net income of $1.96 billion

General Motors Co., in its final financial snapshot before next week's initial public offering of stock, posted third quarter net income of $1.96 billion on revenues of $34.06 billion. The results, released Wednesday, were in line with a forecast issued last week. GM now has earned $4.16 billion on revenues of $98.71 billion through three straight profitable quarters this year--a dramatic swing after five consecutive annual losses.

Lexus GS-F to get LF-A V10

Lexus are said to be preparing a GS-F with the V10 from the LF-A (pictured) There have been rumours that Lexus are going to produce a range-topping GS-F for some time. But with car makers looking at downsizing and trying their best to stick smaller and more economical engines in its cars it seemed the possibility of an M5 competing Lexus GS were going nowhere soon. But according to Japan’s Best Car magazine that couldn’t be further from the truth.

If you think that every little nut, bolt, switch, gear or widget in your new car wasn't scrutinized by a team of highly educated, overworked car geeks (read: engineers), think again. A couple of recent conversations with automotive engineers confirmed that virtually nothing that goes into a car today is taken for granted. During the recent Pebble Beach weekend, I had the pleasure of spending time with an engineer for Jaguar, and the subject turned to materials used for various switches in the cabin.
