MSD 85551 SBC BBC distributor with MSD HEI Cap-A-Dapt kit #8445 with the big Ford style cap, adjustable slip collar was added, bronze gear for roller cam and Moroso Ultra 40 BBC under-header plug wires.  Cap and rotor are in good condition and are not that old.   Distributor is LOCKED OUT, no mechanical advance.  I was using this with a crank trigger and the reluctor wheel in the distributor was modified for cam phasing.  It can be replaced if you are not running a crank trigger, MSD sells a new reluctor  #8415.  Parts have normal wear, but this was just removed from a running engine and works as it should.  New cost on everything is over $400+.  DOES NOT include the red ICT adapter shown on the plug wires, I'm keeping that.

The Mercedes F800 Concept will be at Geneva and previews the 2011/2012 Mercedes CLS One of the biggest style successes in the car world in the last decade has been the four-door swoopy-coupe. And the whole genre started life – at least in a mainstream way – with the launch of the Mercedes CLS in 1994. It was Mercedes’ return to the ‘Executive Coupe’ market after a ten year gap (the W124 version of the E-Class Coupe) but broke new ground with its four-door configuration in a coupe body.

Porsche 918 Spyder laps Nurburgring in under 7 minutes

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

The Porsche 918 Spyder (pictured) laps the Nurburgring in under 7 minutes When the McLaren P1 was first revealed, Ron Dennis told us it would lap the Nurburgring in under 7 minutes. But it seems the best the McLaren P1 has managed so far is a 7:04, so it’s no surprise McLaren hasn’t officially declared its time as they probably knew it wasn’t enough, but also knew that Porsche has managed to take the new 918 Spyder round the ‘Ring in just 6:57s. That 6:57 by the Porsche 918 Spyder isn’t quite as quick as the Radical, but as the Radical has only single type approval, Porsche are justifiably claiming the 918 Spyder’s time as the quickest by a proper production car, beating the previous record of 7:11s set by the Gumpert Apollo.
