The new Jaguar XJ - we look in detail at what's on offer The Launch Despite our moans about some of the teases that went on in the run-up to the launch of the XJ, we can’t dispute that they worked for Jaguar. The interest was pretty much unprecedented, and one or two big car web sites crashed during the day of the launch because of huge numbers of visitors looking for information on the new XJ. We didn’t crash (thankfully) but our traffic doubled on the day, and thousands of you watched the launch live on Cars UK.

Jaguar has released details of its C-X16 concept, due to be unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show. The C-X16, a sporty two-seater hybrid, is designed to indicate the future direction of Jaguar's design, engineering and technological intent. The car is the smallest Jaguar in terms of length since the XK-120 from 1954.

Continuing to rebuke the trend for folding hard-tops despite even Mazda providing such an option on the MX-5, the TT Roadster perseveres with a cloth roof instead. Not only saving weight, this also means no visual mass protruding over the belt-line, though like its predecessor the roof adopts a more abrupt profile when raised than the fluidity of the coupe's profile.
