New Ford Edge Concept previews larger Ford SUV for Europe Ford, just like all mainstream car makers, knows that the SUV and Crossover are fast becoming the transport of choice for families. So Ford has a plan to cover all the SUV bases with a range of new products that will sell in all Ford’s global markets. That includes the new Ford Kuga, the Fiesta-based Ford EcoSport and now this new Ford Edge which, although billed as a concept at the LA Auto Show, is very close to the new production Ford Edge that will be heading for sale in the UK and Europe late in 2014.

Renault has announced the Renault Koleos White Edition today Unlike their Gallic counterparts PSA, Renault didn’t take a Mitsubishi Outlander and splice some French bits on. Instead, they went to Nissan, nicked the X-Trail underpinnings and proceeded to produce their mongrel Koleos. Remarkably – once you get over the looks – the car is pretty competent.

The new Peugeot 308 managed 99.1mpg in a fuel economy run in Spain Fuel economy records are a bit like official economy figures – they have little relevance in the real world. But that doesn’t stop car makers wanting a few headlines proving just how economical their cars can be, and that’s exactly what Peugeot has done with a fuel economy run in a new 308 fitted with their new 130bhp 1.2-liter PureTech three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. But instead of running the 308 in the real world, Peugeot chose to take their car off to the Almeria circuit in Spain – under the auspices of the UTAC (Union Technique de l’Automobile, Motocycle et Cycle) – to set a new record for fuel economy and distance driven on a full tank.
