Collectors for SaleFive reasons to celebrate the end of the paper UK driving licenceTue, 12 Aug 2014From January 2015 Britain’s much-derided paper counterpart driving licence is being phased out. This is A Good Thing, ending an annoying bi-partite arrangement that’s blighted drivers’ pockets for 16 years. Driving licences have been with us since 1903, when they were first mandated – but the current, annoyingly two-part licences have been in use since 1998, with a bank card-sized photocard accompanied by a printed sheet of A4. Subaru ImprezaThu, 14 Apr 2011Following on from the Impreza concept that debuted at L.A last year, the all new Subaru Impreza, set to be unveiled at New York looks set to retain most of the concepts attributes. Subaru have officially 'teased' this side profile shot of the car, showing that the concepts pronounced arches, DLO and surfacing seems to have made the transition to production model, relatively unscathed. Subaru have been relatively scarce with information on the new model, other than to say that the new design results in a roomier cabin, with new level of comfort and refinement. Kia's Forte Super Bowl ad features violent android ladyFri, 01 Feb 2013There's no Jimmy Cliff or Flaming Lips in Kia's Super Bowl ad for the new Forte, but we can't help thinking they're the second company this week to miss out on co-opting seminal New Jersey punk outfit the Misfits' “We Are 138.” While attaching the song to the unveiling of Ferrari's new F138 was a no-brainer from a numerically synergistic standpoint, the track's poppy brutality and ominous query, “Is it time to be an android, not a man?” dovetails perfectly with the rise-of-the-sexy-machines theme of the Kia clip. Clearly, the android in this spot -- portrayed by former Miss USA Alyssa Campanella -- has the upper hand over the poor schnook oiling up the new Forte with his greasy mitts. We can't help thinking the whole ad would've been better if the Misfits' original pint-size vocal dynamo Glenn Danzig had been involved somehow. 2040Parts.com © 2012-2024. All Rights Reserved.
