Volkswagen Scirocco unveiled

Due to be officially unveiled at Geneva 2008, the Golf-based Scirocco has a pleasingly similar exterior to the Iroc concept shown at the 2006 Paris Motor Show, although the concept’s space-age interior has, predictably, undergone the full production watering-down. Mazda MX-5 GT concept to debut at Goodwood

Mazda will bring the Miata of our dreams to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom on June 28. The Mazda MX-5 GT concept will run in the “First Glance” class for the legendary hillclimb. Mazda says the GT concept is inspired by its MX-5 GT race program, and its debut at Goodwood is meant to gauge customer reaction to the car.

Hyundai Veloster to get new 204bhp Turbo When Hyundai revealed details of the Veloster Coupe – the successor to the successful Hyundai Coupe – we found lots we liked and, really, just on thing we didn’t – its paucity of power. All the new Veloster had to offer was the 138bhp 1.6 litre GDI petrol which, although quite frugal, didn’t exactly light a fire of desire for the Veloster in the way we would have liked. So when we reported a couple of weeks ago that Hyundai had revealed a couple of new engines in Korea – a 204bhp turbo and a 150bhp diesel – we rather hoped that Hyundai would see fit to bolt both in to the Veloster sooner rather than later.
