Mercedes S63 and S65 AMG debut at Shanghai

Mercedes revealed the S63 and S65 AMG (pictured) at the Shanghai Motor Show today In yet another demonstration of how important emerging car markets are to premium car makers, Mercedes has chosen to unveil its top two S Class models – the Mercedes S63 AMG and the Mercedes S65 AMG - at the Shanghai Motor Show today. These range-topping S Class Mercedes get the same updates as the lesser siblings (and the Hybrid S400) we told you about a week ago. But this isn’t a new model – just a mid-cycle refresh of the S Class in general.

Supermarkets slash fuel prices for bank holiday

SUPERMARKETS have announced fuel-price cuts ahead of the August bank holiday getaway. From tomorrow Asda, Sainsbury's and Tesco are all reducing the cost of their petrol by up to 2p a litre, with diesel going down by 1p a litre. In Asda's case, this will take the price of its petrol to no more than 124.7p a litre, with diesel at 128.7p for diesel – its lowest prices since January 2011.

Mercedes confirms electric AMG SLS

By Richard Webber First Official Pictures 17 July 2009 09:46 Mercedes’ new AMG SLS – the gullwinged  GT supercar due to appear at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show – is going electric as engineers develop an emissions-free battery powered SLS as an alternative to the 563bhp V8. The eco SLS will have an electric motor powering each wheel, producing a total of 526bhp. Needless to say, for now it remains an engineering prototype – but a spokeswoman told CAR that Mercedes was intent on putting it into production.
