New Hyundai Genesis debuts in Korea
Wed, 27 Nov 2013New Hyundai Genesis debuts in Korea For the UK, the Hyundai Genesis isn’t a car you can buy. But in the US, and Hyundai’s home market, the first generation of Hyundai’s large luxury saloon has been around for five years, offering a Korean take on luxury cars from Japan. But now, with the arrival of the second generation Hyundai Genesis, revealed in Korea yesterday ahead of a more public debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January, Hyundai look set to make the Genesis a world model, and the UK looks set to get it too.
Smaller Mercedes SLS confirmed, and with front-mounted V8 too
Thu, 06 Oct 2011Baby Mercedes SLS AMG - or at least how it could have looked if mid-engined We’ve believed for some time that Mercedes were planning a smaller version of the SLS, but so far there’s been no official word. But that’s now changed, with AMG’s Christoph Jung telling AutoExpress that Mercedes and AMG are currently working on a smaller SLS, to go head-to-head with cars like the Porsche 911 and Audi R8. Interestingly, we’d thought that Mercedes would go the route of a mid-engined two-seater for the baby SLS, and that it would probably get a turbo V6. But it would appear not.
MINI Speedster back on the cards
Tue, 07 Apr 2009Mini Speedster from 2001 - looks set to form the basis of a new MINI Speedster Based on the MINI platform, the Speedster version was talked about as long ago as 2001, but never made it to production on the first MINI platform. But perhaps having now covered just about every variant they can think of, BMW has decided that now is the time to revive the car and get it in to production. Small Roadsters, in the vein of the old British open-topped 2 seater ( and its modern ‘Homage’ version – the MX-5) will, I’m sure, see something of a renaissance in the next few years as people start to turn away from big, profligate cars, but still seek some fun motoring.
