New NHTSA guidelines recommend vehicle systems disable text entry, videos while driving
Tue, 23 Apr 2013Federal regulators, moving to curb distracted driving, issued final voluntary safety guidelines today that would disable certain in-vehicle functions such as manual texting, Web browsing and video phoning while driving. Automakers should do more to keep drivers' eyes on the road and hands on the wheel, U.S. auto regulators said as they released the latest guidelines meant to cut down on crashes caused by the use of electronic devices in cars.

The Suzuki Swift is a more than half way decent little car, and the range-topping Suzuki Swift Sport – which was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September – looks set to be a fun little number with decent dynamics thanks to a tweaked suspension. Firefighter leaves blaze to deliver baby in car
Wed, 07 May 2014A FIREFIGHTER turned midwife today at the scene of a major blaze after learning his maternity ward skills watching the Channel 4 series One Born Every Minute. Ross McLaren delivered Antoni Zimnicki, who weighed 4.16kg (9lb 2oz), after his mum Ewelina and dad Jaroslaw got stuck in traffic around two miles from the North Middlesex Hospital in north London because of the fire. Mrs Zimnicka, who is now in hospital with her healthy newborn, said: "I thought I had a lot of time as my first baby's labour had taken a long time.
