OnStar to tap Google to guide the Chevrolet Volt

Tue, 18 May 2010

General Motors Co.'s OnStar telematics unit is bringing Google mobile navigation technology into the car. Chevrolet Volt drivers whose smartphones use Google's Android operating system will be able to use their phones to pinpoint their vehicle's location on Google Maps, GM said in a statement released Tuesday. They can then request a destination by speaking it into the phone, and have the desired destination sent directly to the car.

Holidaymakers Reminded To Make Pre-Easter Tyre Safety Checks

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

AHEAD of the Easter getaway, a leading tyre safety organisation is reminding the UK’s 650,000 caravan and motorhome owners about the importance of ensuring their tyres are in a safe, roadworthy condition before hitting the road. Stuart Jackson, chairman, TyreSafe, said: “For many, Easter is the first time of the year that they will be heading away in their caravan or motorhome. After the winter when they’ve often had little or no use, it’s essential that the vehicle’s tyres are checked thoroughly before use otherwise a number of potential safety hazards could bring an abrupt end a relaxing holiday.” As part of a visual inspection looking for obvious signs of damage such as lumps, bulges or cuts in the tyre, owners should also pay particular attention to signs of ageing.

SEAT Alhambra (2010 / 2011) revealed

Mon, 19 Apr 2010

SEAT has revealed the 2011 Alhambra (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({}); After we had the official reveal of the 2010 VW Sharan last month at Geneva, it’s not a huge shock that we now get the reveal of SEAT’s version of the Sharan – the SEAT Alhambra. We don’t think SEAT had planned on revealing the Alhambra quite yet, but there are undisguised spy shots flying around the Interweb so they obviously decided to be pragmatic and send out some info – and pictures – earlier than planned. Just like the Sharan, the latest Alhambra is an all new job based on VW’s new flexible MQB platform so, just like the Sharan, the Alhambra is wider and longer than the current model, but also weighs less.
