Large U-bolt had previous experience, I bought it, had it bead blasted, primed, and painted black. I have located a new one and have it on order.
Brand:Hurst Performance Warranty:No Manufacturer Part Number:293-7118 Country/Region of Manufacture:United States

For sale is a NOS, new in the box*, never used* Hurst Mystery Shifter 293-7118. This shifter was designed to fit the Saginaw three speed manual transmission that was original equipment in 1966 through 1968 GM vehicles.  Hurst designates this as the 343 code transmission. This is a complete kit, shifter, linkage, and boot.* The large U-bolt was missing and I could not locate a new one, so I purchased a used one, had it bead blasted, primed, and painted black. I have since found one and have it on order, I will update this listing when it arrives.  This item has been in storage since the early seventies and the box is rougher than a night in jail but is included in the deal. This shifter includes detailed instructions for an easier installation, these instructions include a kit contents list and everything is in the box ready to go.  This was Hurst's first effort to put a quality product on the market to compete with their competitors fit all cheapo's, the Hurst brochure describes the Mystery shifter as having a satin finish, solid steel stick. Exclusive acceleration ramp design, a very narrow neutral gate, and short quick throws. This shifter fits the following vehicles without having to cut the floorpan: 1966-1968 Chevrolet full size cars, 1966-1968 Chevelles and El Caminos. It also fits 1966-1967 Buick Specials, 1966-1967 Olds 442s and F85s, and 1966-1967 Pontiac Tempests, and GTOs . This shifter will fit other vehicles using this transmission, but you will have to do some cutting on the floor. This unit is in perfect shape and all there including the boot. The satin metal stick perfect, these pictures do not do it justice. If you have a 60's model street machine this will help give it the look of the period, a round stick Hurst shifter. Thanks for looking.

Last night at the airport, the car was fully charged and no one had stolen the high-tech multi-pronged plug. So I rolled up the extension cord, tossed it in the back and drove home. I hit 140 km/hr, or 86.8 mph on the freeway.
