  Up for bid is a new old stock intermediate steering arm bearing, New Departure part number 900916.  This item was obtained from an old service garage and is not a newly remanufactured item.  According to my New Departure Manual, this is used on the following models and years:

 

Oldsmobile.....1935, 1936

Buick (40).....1935, 1936

Cadillac (60)....1936

LaSalle (50)....1936

 

  The bearing measures 2" in length with a diameter of 1 1/2".  It is in brand new, never used condition and is free of any rust or damage.  It is still heavily greased form the manufacturer.  The original New Departure box is in good condition.

BMW bidding for Saab? Not a chance The interwebs claim that BMW are to bid for what’s left of Saab, which seems about as likely as BMW buying Rangers. Saab was back in the car news this week when Youngman confirmed they’ve placed a bid with the receivers for what’s left of Saab.

Porsche 911 Sport Classic introduced

Porsche has announced a Limited Edition Porsche 911 that will launch at Frankfurt - The Porsche 911 Sport Classic Porsche has plundered its history to build in to the 911 Sport Classic styling cues from the past. The Sport Classic gets a ‘Duck-Tail’ rear spoiler (thank you, 1973 Carrera RS 2.7) and ‘Fuchs-Style’ alloys (ditto – at least in terms of chronology).  You can also throw in to the mix a double-bubble roof (Carrera GT et al) and black surrounds to the headlights, which is evocative of the 1970s Porsche racers. So having thrown every design cue that fits from its history, what else does the 911 SC get?

The new Ford Taurus SHO is shaping up to be a sleeper. Spy shooters have caught what appears to be the performance version of the new Ford flagship--and it looks almost exactly the same as the regular car. There's a SHO badge on the back--which is stickered over--and uh, nothing else.
