MINI assert that the similarities between the classic Mini and the 911 are based on their ‘Forever Young’ ethos (which is, in no small part, down to the fact both are still clearly similar to the original design) and their performance. Following the announcement of Alfa Romeo’s plans, which see it share rear- and all-wheel drive platforms with Maserati, Wester confirmed production of Maserati’s Porsche 911 rival. The Alfieri will be offered in three guises, kicked off with a rear-drive entry-level model powered by a 410bhp V6, a mid-level 450bhp all-wheel drive version and a flagship 520bhp V6 all-wheel drive model.
