This unit was working when removed several years past and kept in storage as a backup. Recommend it be tested and inspected prior to installation to guarantee it's performance. It may or may not need to be serviced. Seems very similar to current 1012 & 1212 pump types especially regarding dimensions. Such cost new $600-$800. It was sealed with hoses and fittings being sold with it and had hydraulic fluid in such to prevent any drying out of components. Hydraulic reversing type fitted on boats up to 65 feet L.O.A. (depending on rudder torque). Octopus Autopilot pumps are switched on by the automatic pilot and make a steering correction to left or right determined by the direction of rotation of the pump motor. The motors are of the permanent magnetic type and reversing direction is accomplished by reversing the motor input current. The pump has only three moving parts and requires no complicated check valves to prevent rudder movement when de-energized. Motors are heavy duty with long brushes and sealed ball bearings for long service life. The molded rubber mounting foot can be rotated to allow the pump to be mounted on any surface. Nissan wins New York taxi bid
Tue, 03 May 2011Nissan won the fight for an exclusive 10-year contract to design and supply the next generation of taxis for New York City, starting in 2013. "The new taxis will be custom-designed to meet the specific demands of carrying 600,000 passengers a day in New York City traffic," Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Tuesday. "The vehicle meets the top priorities identified by the public in our online survey." Nissan was battling Ford Motor Co.

Ford and GM tie-in with Apple
Thu, 10 Aug 2006Having established a relationship with Nike for recycling materials as demonstrated on the Ford Reflex concept, Ford has now joined GM in collaborating with Apple to ensure their cars are iPod compatible. Rather than the retrofitted wire many drivers have had to resort to, cars will offer a bespoke area in the glove compartment that also acts as a charging point, the iPod instead controlled through the car?s GUI. By the end of the year, 70% of all new models sold in America are expected to be iPod compatible, an arrangement that furthers Apple?s continuing domination of the MP3-player market and one that will introduce Apple to the car-computer market, anticipated to be worth $6billion by 2010.
